In "Brendan Behan's Island' he quote Lenin approvingly to the effect that the aim of all politics should be the abolition of the village idiot =- problem is, googling doesn't reveal a source, and i wouldn't put it past BB to invent it and attribute to Lenin for a bit of borrowed authority. can anyone authenticate it? - it's a great line, mind

maybe its a misquote of the bit about how capitalism abolishes 'rural idiocy' in this...?

Perhaps Lenin said that the goal of all politics was the abolition of the state and the installment of generic communism. That's what Badiou paraphrases (?) in the Metapolitics
