Rinse fm - static on the net stream?

Yeh the reason for this is the stream is taken from a radio signal in somebody else's house.

If the signal is down for any reason the stream will be relaying static - exactly the same as you would hear on the radio.

i liked that about listening at http://scanner.irational.org/ (haven't done it in a while). there's something strange about hearing static on a net stream. i keep imagining a room full of radios hooked up to computers somewhere in the middle of london.

Yeah me to, I was tuned in ready to enter the Roll Deep competition, but no luck. I was gonna sit here in the office today with a huge pile of paperwork listening to Rinse all day, too.

I've never got http://scanner.irational.org to work- I tune it to a station that I know should be there, Kool FM or whatever, and it asks me if I want to download scanner.m3u (file type= RIPCAST.PLAYLIST)- if I click yes, it goes to Window media player and sits there apparently buffering, but it never actually gets to 100% and plays anything. Anyone know if I'm doing anything wrong?

Seems the Rinse stream is back! Still a bit of static, but hey.

I have images of some bloke retrieving his laptop from a pile of clothes and Coke cans and sticking it back on the table where it gets a decent-ish signal.
