yeah it's the best thing he ever did, or got onto record anywayUnbelievable piece of music
Not sure. Apparently the version on Band of Gypsys is the third night and, according to someone in the comments, this one's the second? The Wiki says there are at least four versions, isn't this the version off "Band of Gypsys"? I vaguely remember that spoken intro.
"Two additional performances of the song appear on the expanded Band of Gypsys' album Live at the Fillmore East released in 1999. A fourth is included on Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show (2016)."
Imagine Hendrix replacing the guitarist hereit's one of those great what-ifs, if he had lived how would he have pursued this kind of Funkdelic meets Black Sabbath meets electric Miles direction

idk if you saw my comments on it in the Miles thread couple weeks agoImagine Hendrix replacing the guitarist here
Wishbone Ash deserve a mention on dual lead attack, I feelif this is just a general Hendrix thread
when you get into late 60s-early 70s hard rock/heavy psych it's kind of amazing how totally he's the default model for guitar players
there's not really a true innovation away from him until the twin-guitar attack of Thin Lizzy and early Judas Priest
Impossible to hear this and not think of Hendrix.Funkadelic
he's fine at what he does but I have zero interest in itHow do people feel about Randy Hansen
