a) I'm closest to the Left and know them better b) there's a particular hypocrisy there - you can't imagine angry Tories running IT WAS A SCAM hash tag if they were called out for hating Jews can you? They'd just shrug and say "yeah fair enough"

Right, which is precisely what Starmer is doing with concerns about Islamophobia. But there isn't the yeah fair enough, just the implicit shrug.

I feel with you, i argue differently as well. So it's weird switching registers midthread. I get drawn some of factional stuff that's posted here is so mindnumbingly fucking stupid it's just enraging.

He's not Darth fucking Vadar, he's just a (fairly skilful IMO) politician.

He'll act on it only to the degree it becomes salient to his electoral chances and there isn't a coherent lobby pushing it onto the agenda - AFAIK - so it's unlikely to become an active concern.

But you should be beyond it imo, not inside of it. Really no need to shit on Statto's views is there? Especially when the perspective you defend is equally as moralistic.

And why isn't there a coherent lobby pushing it onto the agenda? This is what I mean. Labour just use us as a political football, ding dong. This is why I think with your concerns for Syria, you should be better than this. But this is just my personal view. You are of course free to take or leave my advice.

Fair point. I think I know the subject - recent Lab rows - fairly well so it's why its easy to get drawn in.

It's also the fact that's its no longer about policy if it ever was and is entirely about demonisation now - Starmer as anti-Christ "literally worse than Hitler" as it says on the first page of this thread. Not that I want to defend him and his ideas as such - but that kind of ridiculous caricature seems - Idk - weirdly psychological telling from the Left.

It's the same reason why you don't really have any black and brown mps or political figures who can act as a coherent opposition without being constantly shat upon, both from their political enemies (which is at least something to comprehend) but from ostensible allies as well. Even Abbott herself has been pretty bad on refugees, prevent policy etc.

So when tea was like well she won't be co-opted by Starmer, of course she won't because Starmer has bad political instincts, but being in office she's long since been coopted by the responsibilities of running a majority white country, for white people. That's just the way it is. no value judgment either way.

There you go, that's the word, caricature. You take this shit way too seriously.

Dude what is the point of conversing with you when at the slightest challenge you tell people to fuck off? It's not my job to keep your convoluted meta-system in my head thank fuck. I answered a question the world's most boring politician a couple of pages back, commenting on left factionalism and you're barracking me for not calling out every single British MP as a hypocrite?
both tea and Danny have done this tone policing thing. More concerned with that than engaging with anything material. You focus on rudeness because you’ve nothing to say about policy. You’re just hoping for an acceptable face that you can feel less guilty behind. and Personally I think politeness is violence in how it tries to exclud and invalidate, and conceals power dynamics. The unreflective manegerial class are evil at its most pure, evil evil men @DannyL @Mr. Tea @craner

Almost nobody has arrived at their position from an assessment of the facts. You’re caught in a reactive tribal delusion that’s really really difficult to get out of

Well we don't tend to go in for infantile hyperbole and risible internet-hardman flexing, if that's what you mean. You're coming across like a Poundland Sam Kriss.
