Psyence Fiction was terrible, but that single with Ian Brown somehow still sounds good. Late 90s guilty pleasure.

The Best of Ninja Tune is probably the nadir of my CD collection. What was I thinking? The last days before filesharing were dark.

ian Brown hasn't really done anything bad, kinda ever, really/.

This ^^^ is whole thread in a sentence.

Yeah, we're back together. Hopefully the deal on the place in Walthamstow is going to go through next week. Early days but I'm hopeful. Yeah, well, I've just been nipping out to Sister Ray in my lunch hour. Oh, you have GOT the new Kendrick Lamar album!! Yeah, he's from Compton. Man it's like I dunno, Prince jamming with Curtis Mayfield or something! And the lyrics are just so complex, none of that bitches and hoes type stuff. He just makes Kanye look SO STUPID.

Nobody cares about Kendrick. Nobody. Maybe some people in the USA. Nobody else. Nobody. He's the definition of talented.

Is semi-hip fortysomething guy selling after digitally backing up all this cds, then buying "premium vinyl reissues" of the classics, classics like Ænima or Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness in gatefold sleeves that would never have existed when the albums were first released?

I think he stays digital for a while, living in a bedsit or house share. Dreaming of having a record collection and a relationship again. This time he will do it properly.

Good god, can you imagine the music taste of someone with the audacity and wherewithal to actually purchase a dwelling - in London? It doesn't bare thinking about!

I imagined that he's selling because he's realized that his CDs have kind of been gathering dust since he got Spotify...

If he listed them on ebay he would have his cash in time for Record Store Day. Its that day when semi hip people go to record stores. You can show up in person to be the first in line to buy a Record Store Day exclusive release.

For an instant I thought the vinyl referred to the fake wood floors. I guess that's something you start noticing when you're on your way towards semi-hipdom at 40.
