Equiknoxx and weird dancehall

What does the "Outernational" thing mean? Remember Honest Jons having a section on their site years ago and Seekers use the term too.

It's a rasta thing, expanding rather than reducing, taking control of language to alter perception of reality

it's the same principle as Genesis P-Orridge using E instead of I, OV instead of "of", THEE instead of "the" - the Daylight Army ( see BUUM thread ) used language in the same way

Equiknoxx Music Feat. Alozade & Gavsborg

Alozade was a big name in Dancehall, this would be completely "Jamaican" except it was put out by Swing Ting from Manchester, UK

the dub on the B-side is amazing, but I can't find it on youtube

Melville does it a bit, or at least some people have argued certain misspellings in Moby-Dick were deliberate.

i was thinking about the autotune in relation to this - as a what's next. like, is autotune an attempt to escape language?

Is there any crossover between this "weird" stuff and the kind of thing @Benny B has been posting in 'New Dancehall'? Are big Jamaican artists using Equiknoxx and Duppy Gun beats at all or are they off doing their own thing entirely?
Equiknoxx used to be part of the mainstream dancehall production scene, putting out riddims with versions from popular artists, including a few massive hits:

But at some point (Bird Sound Power maybe?), they became what they are today: artier, often interesting but rarely thrilling in the way Jim Screechy is. Maybe more to the point, they tend not to work with vocalists I like much.

I do like that one william_kent posted though

"“The last few months have been a blur. My headphones are broken, my earphones have a short, i’m in just my underpants on the couch pretty much all the time and it’s very hot. I do however occasionally visit construction sites, livestock farms and the hills. Mr. Kat asked me to document my sound from this time period. Since I’ve been doing next to nothing music related, and uncertain about what live performances might look like in the near future I decided to create two of my own. The higher tempo track I used Maschine for the backbone and the lower tempo Track I used TRK-01. Both tracks also use Komplete. Hope that was insightful, nerds. Play them loud and have sex to them.” Time Cow, 2020

Duppy Gun x Elements - Andromeda Riddim

still a trace of Dancehall audible in this latest release from Duppy Gun ( with some help from Bokeh Versions ), something that can't be said for the Gav & Jord ( Gavsborg & Time Cow from Equiknoxx ) mini LP "Writings Ov Tomato" mini-album, which is "experimental"

Gav & Jord - Appiness

I can only find one track from the mini-album on youtube, and although it isn't the best track off the record by any means ( the title track wins it for me ), it should give you an idea of how far removed from dancehall they have become

wonder if this and solo time cow and gavsborg stuff are their experimental outlet. maybe when they get back to releasing tracks as equinknoxx, they'll have more of a dancehall feel (albeit a weirdo one).
