it is quite a bit like that, and i do quite like it fwiw, having been umming and ahhing about the movement for a while. logan described their flows as 'more lyrical' before, and that's quite on point. so i guess in a way it is more hip-hop, they're not on a one-line flow thing..

anyway i'm not gonna ysi, sorry. not cos i don't trust you, but cos it takes me forever to rip and up things on my ancient pc. i'm sure some of the tracks must be up on various myspaces..?

i recommend buying it - the £6/20-odd tracks thing is difficult to argue with, esp when you've got five or so difft mcs on there.

See, I like Riko. He brings something a little bit different to Grime mc-ing. Actually I think it's a bit of a shame his mixtape never materialised.

Kicking people in the shins is an extremely underrated move. As a fight starter it is much more devastating sometimes than a sucker punch. Trust. I saw a man kick another man in the shins a while back outside a bar, and it was absolute merkery.

on the subject of live grime nights inside the m25, i wrote a lengthy piece aaages ago which is now a truncated, out-of-date blog post on dazed's website - better there than nowhere tho i figured. doesn't take into account prancehall's pledge to put on two nights per month at old blue last either alas - i didn't know about it at the time. basically the picture's not quite as bleak as that makes out, but the experiences of david and chantelle are still worth recording:

He always denies this on RWD when he's promoting them! Still, great resource as you say. The Durrty Whirl CD is awesome.

I don't think i ever fully 'got' how good Duugz/Goodz was till i got this last week. Sick MC, gone straight into my top 5.

I think he makes a lot of hip-hop now?
