producers, what's new? post your links up, let's get some feedback moving.. i've been checking out your myspace links as i see them but feeding back is typically gross thread derailment!

i'll start the ball rolling - i do dark, aggressive cinematic beats and themes (see myspace link below).. polished mixes are not my strong point.. i find the mix/mastering process laborious - i lose interest too quickly.. :slanted:

i think you got quite an original sound - interesting, eclectic samples.. quite a dj production style.. what kind of vocals you talking? singer or mc?

interstellar has a strong 80's action show/film theme vibe with me.. could easily see it as the theme to a ninja/vigilante film, like it!

the two ghost tracks have a dark mystery i like also.. i like the pulse of ghosts acid dub.. in fact, i'd probably soil myself to it, ruined in the clobe! props..

Er, a female singer. She's done a couple of grime hooks and some old UKG so the voice could sound familiar when it happens. An MC or two as guests.

I really liked your stuff, by the way. Downloaded them today, mp3 player all go.

Been meaning to 'do' a myspace page for a week or so now, so this thread was a good excuse...

The tracks were done earlier this year after a layoff from the studio of six months or so. I'm going to self release them, I think. Bit of sorting out to do first though.

Like Ghosts (Haunted), reckon this is my favourite. The other mix is cool but needs to do more earlier on imo. Some of the leads on Interstellar are great, personally I'm not into the hook but sure some would be. An alternate stripped down version might be cool as an extra cut.

Most people so far have preferred the acid dub, actually. I used have a real problem making tracks too complicated, so now my preference is for keeping it simple.

I listened to 'Are You Here' - you're pretty good at having a track do lots of stuff without losing focus. Better than me anyway! I like the plonky FM synth sounds and the jazzy stuff.

I'm guessing you did this pretty quickly though, is that right? Because the mix is a little unbalanced. You could drop the trebley drum sounds back a bit, that would help it groove more.

Thats interesting, I never thought of it as soundtrack-y before. That's one of the most out-and-out dancefloor tracks I've ever done so I wasn't really thinking in terms of a listening experience. The vague idea was to do something that was structured like a trance track but with gnarlier sounds. I suppose trance is pretty cinematic.

will it be a purely digital release or do you plan to press vinyl too?

Gonna do it digital first, gauge the interest and then see if I can get a distributor interested. I'm not gonna press on vinyl without a distribution deal, some can do it but way too much like hard work for me ;).

I'm digging your soundtrack-y stuff - Settle It sounds like a grimed-up version of the Yojimbo soundtrack. I like the way you've got rave stuff and soundtrack stuff in there without it sounding forced, nice one. I made some hip hop soundtrack-y stuff for a music library a few years ago.

i thought the same but took the slow build up as a house/dance thing.. didn't affect my judgement much..

i listened to all your tracks leamas - liked the deep house stuff, particularly the recent one with the stonehenge chatter..

Something just occured to me, were you guys listening on built in laptop speakers? Cos I just tried that and you can't hear the 303 til about a minute or so in.

hey narcossist! Heavy tracks from you mate. No Love Lust is a personal. Really like the dub delay sound and the echoes on the beats. Really into the synth work too.
