Maybe this is a little pedantic but I guess it depends what you mean by "never explored"? Unexplored by western scientists perhaps.... but I think the 100 odd ethnic groups (seafaring peoples to boot) who have populated the region for many centuries might take exception to the suggestion that...

    The Carbon Thread

Yep def agree with that. There are good reasons why investment in renewable energy is desirable. But the AGW impending catastrophe discourse is not one of them -- that is until it is supported by objective (i.e. disinterested/non-politicised) science that stands up to scrutiny.

    The Carbon Thread

Erm... :o so it was! Strange that Mick Kelly - climatologist at the CRU - sent an email (pg. 126) in Oct of 2008 discussing the: "possibility that we might be going through a longer—10-year—period of relatively stable temperatures beyond what you might expect from La Nina, etc." Not sure...

    The Carbon Thread

    Only Children

Same as ^^. Had another brother who died aged 3. I was 5 at the time. Consequently there is a large-ish age gap between me and my brother (6 years diff) and my sister (7 years). Works great these days but there were times when i was younger that I felt a little resentful of my siblings for...

    PERMACULTURE: Life After Peak Oil

Note to self: LESS HYPERBOLE! Before anyone else has the good sense to point it out, I realise that I have moderated my position quite substantially since my original thread opening post. This: is pretty embarrassing to read now  Spose you could say that that was my starting hypothesis...
