Whether that stands up or not I don't know it would be hard to establish.... Maybe we all acquired it through trauma but the memories have been successfully quashed

Craner said I'm lucky he said visualisation just means your head is full of naked women oiled and dancing erotically. He says you can't concentrate on anything under those conditions

this is one of the main benefits of thinking imo but anyway. @luka you always claim to have "insights" when taking stuff, feel like i understand this mysterious pronouncement a bit better after last nite's round table.

OK thanks for clearing that up. So 'interior blindness' does cover it.

The strange thing is that when I was in the chat yesterday and started thinking about it, and tried to recall how I see images, it's actually very hard to break down and recall, and it seemed to be difficult if I thought about it. One of those where the more you focus on it, the more it doesn't happen?

There was a girl in the chat describing intrusive thoughts she gets, sounds awful. In fact a few people describing their aphant symptoms, it seems to be quite a hard thing to cope with.

Sometimes you don't realise how lucky you are.

That pre cog but was funny, how he said you destroyed his theory and you were like 'just guessed mate'

it was a great alcoholics anonymous vibe in the chat, everybody came forward with his or her experiences and we were all there providing a listening ear or cheering when we recognized certain experiences.

We should have done a poll on here, average number of wanks a day.

My wanks are split fairly evenly between porn and my imagination. Porn consistently goes to places my imagination either wouldn't dare to or care to. That's why I think it's evil. In my experience, being aroused morally disarms you to an extent. In the horny wank state you no longer care about the morality of what you're doing. That's why the classic modern wank experience is closing 52 tabs of disgusting bestial filth after you've spunked in your hands.

Probably people who are in relationships or have active sex lives enjoy wanking as a healthy natural thing. Whereas when you HAVE to wank it becomes a neurotic shameful thing, a moratorium upon your life.

it's a shame @Corpsey wasn't there. i don't know if it would have upset the rest of the people but i'm starting to link aphantasia now with the omnipresence of visual media. what does it mean that our most used media is now television, or the internet and no longer books or songs that we sing to each other. does it mean we no longer train our brains to imagine and to fantasize?

i was thinking about how maybe you (luke) are not so troubled by the various screens you see all day, cos when you close your eyes they're gone (i know you get the chatter and told him to shut up etc). but i mean, i wonder if this helped you 'see' something like the process of dematerialisation easier??

the girl in the bath was saying some good stuff about how we have to make stories all the time and then when the main guy said someone reported how the whole aliens thing is something we make up cos the truth would be too disturbing.

it made me think of wizard of oz - that's such a fantastic concept

What was she doing in the bath? Did she make a point of it or did she just carry on as if that's a totally normal way to talk to people? Im quite glad I didn't go in now hearing you had to actually communicate with each other.

You didn't have to. It wasn't compulsory. It was just a text box you could enter some text in.
