has anyone seen Big Hero 6?
I think buildings will be built by micro robots soon and there will be almost no limit to what they can do
they'll produce the material they build from as they build
i'm going to live in a house that's a giant replica...
Been around there many times
It's a horrible excuse for a park
The swimming pool is a cool design
I actually like stratford - all those skyscrapers jutting out against the skyline
I like to walk around there stoned imagining I'm in the nascent stage of blade runner
What I'm wondering is does the future HAVE to be shiny, smooth, artificial? Or is that just a notion of the future we've inherited? (You refer to this upthread, the retro look of these 'cutting-edge' designs.
They should do more with screens
A CGI sistine chapel done by Industrial Light and Magic
But not the story of genesis, the story of the industrial revolution (actually they sorta did this in the olympics opening ceremony, didn't they?)
Totally forgot that we believe in environmentalism
This is a part of the gherkin, isn't it? Sustainability. Organic structures. Maybe that's why wood is big. In the scene. Of architecture.
EDIT: Sorry sufi I've derailed this...

It's an interesting question actually, if - despite living in the computer age - we are entirely comfortable with the idea of being modern anymore. I feel an anxiety about it, and about the smoothing out of human foibles by AI. I don't feel any affection towards these big skyscrapers. I feel a...
I quite like skyscrapers, and I like imagining people in the distant future discovering them in the wilderness and not knowing why they were built...
in reality of course they're very boring, full of offices or oligarch apartments
Still, and I feel like prince charles for saying so, I don't...
This is concept art which gives you a good idea of what they're going for
A cloaked building, indivisible from the sky
Probably not actually inhabited with any real people (other than cleaners etc.) too so very virtual indeed
