BP oil spill

Do hope the new oil spill does not provide another sad backdrop to the second - or would it be the third - season of Treme.
I hear they did re up for a second season from a friend did the first editing and is now doing 'music video's ' from the show for HBO.
And agreed no chex- Kandi is kind of a natural force, her sly smile and does she 'give face' ...

ep 3 officially sucked me in...

4 was good... the indie DJ charector becomes more of a likeable lump every episode... half schmuck, half mensch... i am not sure about the dutch junkie musician guy... well, i mean, i am not sure what his role is... it's for sure he will fuck up in some way, as he had the sniffles last episode and is obv frusterated no one regards him as a real musician...

warning : wire-isms ahead....... this show shows how good an actor Lestor is, his range is great, and he hits all the right notes and hits 'em gingerly... Bunk shows how immense his charisma is... he does the same thing over and over, but he does it well... he's just so watchable...

ep 4

Hear you guys, just saw ep 4 last night- another good one, things building on a few fronts, things sweetning on others and yes, the schmuckster has gotten easy to roll with- at least the song he works on in 4 is better then his previous acoustic guitar based ode to new women moving into the nabe ...
And Kandi continues to give face on an as - needed basis.
I hear they are making music video's from all the super cameo's.

I'm really enjoying the episodes, i got the "i'd-love-to-see-another-episode-right-now" syndrome.

Loving the characters. Even the Dj, and i really enjoyed "strippers moving to my neightborhood" song.
I like the way the diferent stories are told, and of course i really like that in fact is a musical drama!

What would happen to the missing brother? and i'm guessing that probably John Goodman's character will run for elections or something like that.

I don't want to give away potential spoilers, but it is very likely that the busker characters are based on something that happened in the city in the months following Katrina. The story those characters related in the bar is pretty much the story of Addie Hall and Zach Bowen. I sort of hope it doesn't go there, but I suspect that's where it's going. Don't google them if you don't want spoilers.

Doubtful that it would follow such an obvious trope. Goodman's character is based on Ashley Morris. His youtube rant was based on this blog post he made in Dec 2005:

ok, episode 6, and the dutch guy is now a cokehead wife beater.... at this rate he'll be dead by episode 9....

PS.. i have not googled gypsy's spoilers...

I DID check gypsy's spoiler on the couple Addie and Zach; and have to agree with him -
hope the show does not go there.

about episode 7, maybe some spoilers ahead

I really enjoy it, the storytelling was just amazing. Chief lambreaux was beat down that way by those cops. And the sad end of Ladona and Toni's quest. The end of Janette's restaurant, but the begining of a new project.

really great drama in oposite to the shitty Lost finale.

The Chief's beatdown was pretty damn sad ...
The N O police don't come out very well in the series so far.
Definitely watching this series when I can >

Season finale

That season wrap episode went down well ...
A surprise final swim for one,
a fitting funeral for one son and
'life goes on' for another I am glad to see make to the end of season one.

I watched all the episodes in a last couple of days, really enjoyed it. The 'kandi' character is class, got the beleaguered/fiesty shit down. The indians and the bunk characters are pretty good too. That davis guy is a fucking bellend, haha. I think the writing is overall pretty solid, there's alot of stuff to keep the show moving and give it pace. Sometimes it feels a bit messy I think. That's maybe how it's supposed to feel - some of the randomness of events is a bit much. At the same time, some of the characters do feel a bit cliched, and I'm not sure about the sentiment about art coming through adversity and such, sometimes feels a bit satisfied with itself. Anyway, good all round watching. The music is brilliant, itself it's like another character. Brings the good points of the series into focus.

Gonna try to put off watching this online and wait till it hits DVD in the UK. So excited to watch though, and this thread seems to rate it so even more excited.

Simon/Burns seem to be the best TV drama writers... Ever.
