I quite fancied Strange Angel but I couldn't find it when I looked for it before - any good?
Started watching Watchmen (so there's your answer Cicero) and I'm enjoying it a lot now. At the start I was disappointed cos I thought it was gonna be the book but slightly different so I was all "who the fuck are these guys" and the first couple of episodes were a bit slow and confusing, but after that it picked up and it started coming together, random scenes from the earlier episodes fit into what I'm seeing now and explain it etc There are still two episodes to go so it could go wrong - I do always think "but why didn't Dr Manhattan just.." which is a problem I guess but that aside I'm impressed assuming they don't fuck up the ending. Also there are only ten episodes which makes it a bit less daunting than something with a million seasons already made.
After that I'm thinking of trying Devs - anyone know anything about that?

Yeah I would recc strange angel, it's not as good as the wire or sopranos but what is? We watched one ep of Watchmen, gave up was too confusing. Plus I felt like Alan Moore wouldn't like me to watch it

I would do a sopranos rewatch but only saw it recently in full. Wire rewatch would be good but I've already done that about 3 times. Not sure if breaking bad appeals anymore

I included breaking bad because I like better call Saul and am now curious about the connections and story lines.

Only seen bits of the first season of sproanos when it came out. Saw the first ep of the wire. Have seen all of breaking bad though, and yeah. Not planning on rewatching. First 3 or 4 seasons were pretty good but after a while all that cliffhanger at the end of every episode shit starts to rub me the wrong way.

What's the best way to watch curb your entusiasm? Prime? Tiger king has been pretty entertaining, considering watching the wire again again.

the new series? i think its on sky comedy. i dl'd a torrent of all the old series, but tend to watch everything else on various different streaming sites with loads of hideous advertising.

never watched: northern exposure, the larry sanders show, ren and stimpy, The Avengers Series 4-5, The Phil Silvers Show or Hancock's Half Hour. Made in chelsea is something i've absorbed by proxy, cos my wife watches it.

top 3:

the wire
the sopranos
i claudius

bonus: mysterious cities of gold or ewoks, both of which i was well into in the 80s.

northern exposure

wow, blast from the past, haven't thought of that show for decades. kind of groundbreaking for network TV at the time, mainstream but featuring lots of quirky characters and interesting plot lines. John Corbett's character's DJ schtick was good, and I had the hots for Maggie. from the guys who created "st. elsewhere".
