recommend both seasons of "trapped" from Iceland, all three seasons of "occupied" from Norway, and all three seasons of "the tunnel" (based on the danish/swedish series "the bridge").

also thought all seasons of "call of duty" were really good, and "happy valley".

Yeah that was my issue with Breaking Bad... oh my god oh migod, he's gonna die he's gonna die, there is NO WAY they can get out of this one.... but they have found one... but now it's even worse OH MY GOD, oh my FUCKING GOD, there is no chance they can possibly survive this one... but they did... rinse repeat.
Plus the shit characterisation with people just changing who they were all the time.
I'm being harsh, it had its moments, I watched it to the end but I don't understand when people say it was great art.

Bowed to the inevitable and watched Tiger King yesterday... all the way through in one sitting. What's to say really? Except I googled the guy and found out there was even more stuff, like his boyfriend before his first husband was arrested for pulling a gun on him and later went to jail for murder and child abuse. Seems like almost everyone involved had a whole litany of minor (and major) crime in their background. Also Joe Exotic was a police chief at one time, was that mentioned?
One thing no-one seems to mention is the soundtrack, there were a lot of cool tunes in the backgrounds, weird scuzzy fucked up country instros, does anyone know where there is a full list of tunes they used? I had a bit of a google around yesterday and found a few things that claimed to have it but as far as I could tell they weren't even half-way to complete. More people were interested in those comedy country tunes he did himself...

A few people are recommending Devs to me, thinking to try that next, sounds interesting and I really like that woman who is in... she had a limited role (no speaking, no clothes) in Ex Machina but she was very good in Maniac the, ultimately disappointing, Jonah Hill/Emma Stone series, the best thing in it in fact.

He'll always be Lovejoy to... well, to everyone won't he? Which is weird when you think about it cos I've never really seen it. I can't imagine many people here were huge fans in fact.
I've watched two episodes of Devs now, seems like an intriguing premise and so on but it's a bit duh duh duh dramatic! And self-important with slow, pompous music accompanying scenes that unfold much more slowly than they need to.

No way! My mum used to watch Lovejoy I think, it was the sort of thing that would be on when you walked in the living room at my grandparents or whatever. I think he was an antique dealer or something.

Yes antiques dealer I think. Good mullet. Just started on season 2 and they all look a lot cleaner, and deadwood is a bit less disgusting. Like the whole set has had a sheen, and they've got better hair and makeup team. Promising start with the massive fight.

The other thing I was watching the other day was Knight Rider, specifically this episode from 1984:

It's a weird episode because Michael teams up with his old pre-KITT police partner, from before he "died" and had facial reconstruction surgery, and so has to spend the entire episode pretending that he doesn't know who the other guy is. But the weirdest thing about it is that during a scene at a football field the instrumental track of Ray Parker Jr's 'Ghostbusters Theme' is playing as incidental music to a cheerleader practice. Was the Summer of 1984, when this episode was filmed, still too early for people to wonder why cheerleaders would be practicing to 'Ghostbusters'? Or was Ghostbusters so ubiquitous already that it was what cheerleaders routinely practiced to?

This has actually been bugging me for days. I guess now we'll never know the answer.

Well, he was in this thing Cold in July which was on telly here on some cheap channel and we just assumed it was gonna be bollocks like everything they show... but it was actually really surprisingly good. It wasn't the generic thriller it looked like being. Anyway, we looked it up afterwards and it turns out that it was quite highly regarded by the critics (they must have shown it by mistake I guess) and they all thought kinda the same as we did. But we'd completely missed it up to that point.
And then he was in Watchmen and Knives Out and... he just always seems to be in things. He just always seem to turn up.

When we were little Mum and Dad bought a CD player, I guess when they were new, or new to us anyway, it was like this big exciting thing that they were getting a new hi-fi with a cd player for themselves for Christmas. And I remember that me and my brothers (or maybe there was only one brother then come to think of it) bought a CD for Mum (Motown Chartbusters vol 7) and Dad (Jan Hammer) so that they would have something to play on it. This frightening modern silver disc with this futuristic synth music on it. Although I think I preferred the motown one. And I preferred the volumes we had as records already to that in fact.
