SubGlobal Underground present an Easter Weekend clubbing spectacular of global electronica, Sufi dub sounds and transnational breakbeats featuring DJ Pathaan Celt Islam, Secret Archives of the Vatican and NonChalant spinning the planet's best grooves until 3am.

Pathaan is one of the very few UK based DJ's to have truly crossed the dance world divide. His unique and highly absorbing 'Stoned Asia Music' series of compilations reflects a personal passion for global chill-out with a sitar twist. A growing musical diversity had led to the release of Pathaan's 'Small World, Indian Sunset and Global Sunset compilations, showcasing the open-minded attitude of his club nights combined with an obsession for seeking out the very latest global platters.

Celt Islam is an English Muslim, Sufi and a member of the northern British alternative dub/breaks outfit Nine Invisibles and Analogue Fakir . Celt-Islam uses a fusion of music from Dub/Electro/Drum andBass and collaborates it with Islamic/world grooves to create a Dub driven dance crossover. Celt Islam has played alongside Public Enemy's Bomb Squad , Fleck, DJ UMB, The Orb, Hardfloor, Rex Offender aka Smart Moneky ,DJ Bobby Friction, DJ Pathaan, Inder Goldfinger, Mick Reed, Oova Matique , Dr Weevil, Bongo Chilli, D Bo General, DanMan and played the Introducing stage Glastonbury 2010.

Their music is usually described as Transglobal Breakbeat Dub Science as it contains elements of many genres: breakbeat, dub, dubstep, drumstep, triphop, drum and bass, Indian, Arabian and Turkish musics and many more. They are a small collective, based across the UK but with main recording facilities in Croydon, South London.

Artist ,songwriter and producer from Manchester, NonChalant has a unique sound which resonates with depth and a quality which transcends across many musical styles and genres. Nonchalant is a regular and popular artist played by BBC Asian Network's Bobby Friction and has gained the respect and attention from the commited listeners of the BBC radio channel. The Nonchalant is currently working on a new music project with an eclectic collection of tracks with a futuristic /world fusion sound twisted with an asian and arabic flavour under the banner of Cafe Manchester which represents all the beautiful colours and textures of the ever changing cosmopolitan city of Manchester.
This event will begin at 9pm but our Picturehouse Cafe Bar is open from 7pm for good times.

Best known as the founder of Sub-Woofah and spin off ' The Jungle Takeover' club nights run throughout Manchester, Leeds and London. She was the runner up in the Skiddle DJ of the year competition in 2010 and has warmed up the stage for some of the biggest players in the game. She holds numerous residencies throughout the UK appearing at most Sub-Woofah, Jungle Takeover, Unity and GASHcollective parties and club nights! She performs regularly at some of the best clubs in the country, plus the odd festival whenever she gets chance. On top of this she hosts a weekly Ragga Jungle show on Manchester's black music station Unity Radio 92.8FM, and is currently working hard in the studio, hoping to get some of her new tracks out in the near future!

Jon Sterckx - DRUMSCAPES

Jon Sterckx is a percussionst based in Stroud, South West UK. Jon trained in Indian tabla in India & the UK with several teachers including Harjinder Singh Matharu, Shivanand Bhandari & Kailash Nishad & also plays percussion from the Middle Eastern & West African traditions. Jon has a BA (Hons) Music from Dartington College of Arts (2000), where he concentrated on tabla, fusion music & performance composition.
