I played a 128kbps at Cable and it sounded fine lol
kinda uturned on what I said Simon. Mainly down to the fact that recently I've been thinking, fuck it...if it's in the club and of a reasonable(ish) quality and it wasn't available anywhere else..fuck it, play it. No cunt's gonna know the difference when the rave is peaking off.
What I was kinda going on about in that original post was people playing vinyl rips when the vinyl is readily available..but then again, if you don't play vinyl, and really like the track n that's the most easily accessible way of playing it...again, fuck it.
The main reason that made me re-think my knee jerk comment was that alot of the most interesting music I've heard in the last few years has consisted in a small part of young kids sampling low bitrate tracks, then bouncing in 320 (lol).
Some jersey club tracks with lots of energy using 256kbps rihanna samples, DJ Nate tracks (that whole planet mu sampler thing) wicked...
What I'm really against I suppose is people who will happily play a low bitrate version of a track, when the 320 is available for like 99p or whatever (then again, if u dont have the cash...)
