I like the beats, but I hate the guys voice, and I can't see it growing on me. It just sounds like something Jello Biafra would listen to.

there are no accidents
a lot more gritty and rock and dance music influence than any of that 90s eat-your-own-tongue funkless hiphop stuff.

could be more noise though. could be more Dj Scud meets Kuduro.

too bad they're not from the motherland, would have fit in this film i worked on perfectly.

It's all grist
Word. This is what the guy said in the quietus interview.

Just checked this out last night. Full endorsement!

Ha, yeah, kudos to mistersloane.

In the video for 'Guillotine' we've noticed MC Ride is careful to wear his seatbelt, adding to the impression that the character he projects isn't someone you want to be sitting beside on a long flight. Almost like he's a good citizen, repressed, buttoned up, conscientious about the rules, but on the verge of going off the deep end. Was this intentional, an oversight, or just good in-car safety?

F: Yes, of course it's intentional. We obviously had the option and foresight to not use a seatbelt, but that misses the point. It is not real - the outside is static, the inside is static, and the seatbelt is fucking static. Everything is static, just eating away at the individual. The material world and many things within it are designed to keep us half-dead, and we're trained to think these things are keeping us safe. We reference the weaponry of fear and our music and vision isn't about being hard or tough, it's about being real and raw, and feeling our shit. We counter with energy, everything is energy.

You can download all the stems/acapellas/instrumentals from their Tumblr if yr in a recontextualisin' mood. Typical they offer everything for free download but I'd jump on any vinyl.

I was at the Old Blue Last show

It was so intense, they just come on and do their music. No interaction apart from throwing some of the crowd back into the crowd

I enjoyed it

I liked it better when it was called B L A C K I E and it wasn't patronizingly stupid songs disguised as 'progressive'.

Shark Biterz in avant-hop.

Every song is about getting his dick sucked, weed, and not backing down? Yeah, he's just any rapper disguised as someone who's 'out there'.

The answer is actually yes.

Oh, I'm sorry, he has one episode of pseudo-esoteric self worship. I'm sure he was a regular dude in California who might've gotten an honorable discharge for being too difficult for deployment, took some DMT, started seeing shit "REAL DIFFERENT", and when he met Zach Hill who probably saw B L A C K I E at the various festivals they could've bumped into each other back in '07 or even as far back as '07, Zach wondered "Man, if only I could find a rapper who thought screaming was all you needed to do, and would listen to my shitty IDM-Glitch-Hop inspired SHIT?"

why are you so angry?

also please provide evidence that 'every song is about getting his dick sucked, weed, and not backing down'. I wouldn't care if it was the case tbh but you seem to be making stuff up to make some weird point

sorry I just wanted to quote the question as I think it is a pertinent one but the forum wouldn't let me make a post without it having 1 character in it. Should have just done a full stop. Regrets..
