Hip-Hop 2012

do you think hes shit? cos i thought he was crap at first. but then i thought he was good. now i think hes still a bit ropey as i initially suspected, but i like him anyway. he can flow. and hes from liverpool. best rapper from liverpool since ever?

im going to avoid chief keef btw and wait for the next waka album. which is presumably the only reason for chief keef. for people to bide their time until waka releases something new.

Best MC in Liverpool is that grime MC, Intruder, I think, although it's hardly a great honour.

Chief Keef is great.

Chief Keef is not Flocka.

I want to illustrate something smarter, but to imply that Keef is just some sort of Flocka substitute is stupid, so why bother? Keef is a 16 year old playing with a genre that Flocka pioneered, but he's also developing rapidly, and by the time he approaches Flocka's age, there's plenty of indicators that he could even be superior. He's just as charismatic, has just as good an ear for beats, and a great hook sense. All he needs is bar development, some twisting of the flow, and yeah.

but it's just one interview, with a 16 year old kid. surely what is important is that his music has lots of personality and charisma?

i think its wrong to deny the part of keef which is -child does waka impression in grandmothers lounge- and the pleasure which is bound up in that.

Lito's latest tape has some good tunes on it

The beat on that Wale tune is interesting - is that DC style? A bit like Baltimore, from the little I know of it.

Meek Mill should be on that. I've become a bit of a Meek Mill groupie lately. MMG groupie too. Well - just the holy trinity of Rozay, Gunplay and Meekay really. The rest of their roster are highly expendable.

Finally listened to this luka! Very icy. Music for white walkers.

Didn't even know that tape had come out. Adding this to my list of things I've missed out on.

I also like that Danny Brown tune.

I've got very behind on hip hop lately. I listened to the Chief Keef on the way to work one day and it sounded quite good. Not on ipod headphones though.

Really like this Meek Mill & Big Sean one, which was surprising because I didn't think I liked either of them.
