They work. Decades long abstinence weeded out some psychic fluff. Got out in the wilds and re-realised how lucky we are, given the current duress and pressures the world is under. A spell recast.

Tripped in a beautiful park by the river in Oxford yesterday but ruined it by boozing first/alongside it. Had a great time but wasn't really feeling the acid.

Then later on I watched The Shining and then lay on the sofa trying to sleep and I was seeing scenes play out in my mind that were shot and colour coordinated ala the Shining.

I also had this fleeting but strong impression of being able to look at issues in my life like solid but pliable objects that I could spin around etc to look at and bend into new shapes.

I could see reptilian skin (like iguana or chameleon skin) in my mind's eye and I senselessly thought that was the texture of the past. I think I was slipping between sleep and consciousness by then.

Oh and also somehow I was thinking about animals suffering and it occurred to me with a clarity I (as a meat eater) now would prefer to push away that that suffering exists and I must change my diet completely to stop being complicit.

So, despite the booze the acid was obviously working away.

Another "ethical" thing was thrown up by watching thor the dark world and being repulsed by it (and the adverts surrounding it).

I work in marketing so that set me off wrestling with the idea of my job. I thought in my suggestible state I might be able to make the best of it but it stubbornly remained to my mind a quite worthless activity.

You should become vegetarian. You should quit your job and become a humble street poet. You must bring your life into line with the Teachings.

This is interesting. What do you mean by senselessly? Do you think these visuals have any significance? What do they mean? I obviously already know but as a good shaman I want you to get to the answer yourself

Watching ads on acid is disgusting, jarring, fake, high contrast manipulation. Evil beautiful people. Very malicious energy

Its hard to recall now what the significance might have been. I think at the time it made sense to me.

I had very strong synthasesia, thoughts with physical texture etc.

All this wasn't ideal when I wanted to sleep tbh. But interesting portents of when I do it without the booze some fine day.

The ‘texture of the past’ is an interesting phrase. I was thinking of the reptilian brain, which runs a lot of our processes that identify the familiar and unfamiliar, threat response. keeps us safe, fight flight and freeze etc and if tripping might allow a more pronounced visual representation of that system, so when thinking about those issues in your life from several angles you’re getting a feel for the shape and texture of the jerky vigilant reptilian memory

Scales and colours in reptiles like chameleons do a lot of communication and their visual systems are very attuned, place a lot of meaning on, those shapes. Much like faces for us

It's difficult to see from the front, but when you view the statue from the sides, where patrons would sit, it becomes strikingly clear from both sides that the head of Jesus is meant to look like that of a snake.



Think about it for a moment:

If just one side of the statue gave the impression of a snake's head, we could brush this off as coincidence, but when it looks this way from all angles, and the entire building resembles a snake as well, it becomes much more difficult to ignore.

One must begin to realize that this was purposefully designed to appear this way. The thought and planning that went into this would have to have been immense.



The reality is, there is an obvious reason for this imagery.









The Big Question


You may be asking what that reason is,

Why was this building built in such a way that the Pope appears to be speaking from the mouth of a reptile?

If you aren't asking that question, you're simply turning a blind eye.



It's not that the evidence isn't present, it's that you are choosing not to see it. There are seven separate pieces that comprise the snake or reptile symbol. If it were one or two I would understand your skepticism - even three.



But when seven pieces come together so beautifully, so perfectly, you know beyond any shadow of a doubt that it was intentional.



Regardless, I know what I'm saying may be difficult to accept, but all tough truths go through phases - laughter and ridicule, partial acceptance, and then, eventually, they appear self-evident to the population.



I believe we are getting closer to the third stage when it comes to understanding who truly runs and has influence over our world, which is why this snake symbolism exists here.

It actually wasn't like this but I'm going to make a point of looking at chameleon skin next time I'm on one

What I remember now is that these textures I could see in my mind's eye were 3D. Usually it would be a flat image in my mind.

Again, the sense that you can touch thoughts and manipulate them.

It's imperative for you to quit your job and to become a vegetarian. The Teachings are very clear on this point.

Already feeling that certainty ebbing away, to be replaced by the same grudging acceptance.

The mind scrambling for its old trapjaw footholds.

Another thing I forgot to mention (it's quite banal) was looking at the news while on acid it all just seems utterly insane and ridiculous. The fact that the president is Trump, e.g., makes that obvious enough for the sober, but we still accept that he's President, that the President can walk around in a suit telling people what to do, etc. Even if you hate Trump and think he's a moron you still take the fact he's President seriously.

Just thought that was interesting. Maybe a glimpse of that childlike perspective psychedelics give you, where you no longer take the world for granted.

What it gives you, though, despite this pulling of the rug away from certainties isn't uncertainty.

It gives you a sense of clarity.

This time around that was mostly through what it forced me confront my repulsion towards.

Who supervises you when you go for a shit anyway?
Booze and psychedelics together is a recipe for disaster though. Every time I've done it I've regretted it. That includes drinking in the immediate aftermath the week or fortnight afterwards. It's very dicey. The usual chains aren't in place.
