Your claim is, ofc, ridiculous but there are v v few (maybe 0) perfect albums.

H8 to bring in the usual lit shit to a muso thread but

Chekhov: 'Odd, I have now a mania for shortness. Whatever I read my own or other people's works it all seems to me not short enough.

albums are just ratio of how much profit to plastic used. nothing more nothing less. they aren't really comparable to a novel because novels are fundamentally solipsistic.

Is their any music improved from being part of an album? An album that heightens a piece of mhsic’s adsthetic potency? I can’t think of any, but I can thinking lots of examples of the reverse.

rnb the biggest culpret for this. even more a singles genre than funk. every rnb album has at least 5 fillers.

I mean lots of things obviously but what do those things have in common? It tends to be some unity of tone and atmosphere, so a coherent soundworld is conjured up. It's world building. Which is why I don't like some of the tracks in the back end of the infamous, they don't fit.

Sorry luka has crowned me theraregrooveman after Ollie cunted off this forum to work on his kegel exercises after breaking up with young Celeste. 2010s rnb is incomprehensible to me. Apart from Tinashe. and she has quite a few fillers...

Albums as a medium inherently fail to do this. There’s something about the very nature of albums that stops this from happening.

I like how the time of the instinctual, unfounded “barty’s obviously wrong” to “oh I hadn’t thought if that but of course he’s right” is getting shorter and shorter. By next month I’ll be ruling by decree.

I mean yes but this is what happens when you don't understand dialectics you let go of your trade secret.
