the idea of doing some kind of workshop is really cool. always assumed i'd move on from doing stuff in a more rigid DAW setting once i'd "mastered" that but why wait until then?

I made this in uni and I think I've pretty much forgotten 90% of how to do any of it. I lost the finished version when my hard drive got wiped on my laptop, opened it up not that long ago thinking I might have a go at refinishing it, looked at the scramble of wires and closed it again quickly.

I'd be up for it, might give a bit of motivation to dust off my pirated copy of max 5 and/or actually make some music.
god I recall finding the only available copy of cracked max 8, was on some weird warez site and took a few hours to download because the dl was limited to 50kbps or so. had to buy the annual license eventually because I've upgraded to the newest macos and none of the cracked software works

You can grab the (unfinished) patch if you want to play around with the granular part theres a link on the YouTube. to be honest the granular synthesis bit of that was made over the course of a granular synthesis module so basically tutors design, i barely read any microsound. the work I really did on that patch was the CA object and the mapping / UI.

you had a whole module around granular synthesis? that sounds either really sweet or really horrible.
what uni/course btw if I may ask?

Well possibly was part of a wider synthesis module, I'm not really not sure now looking back at it! I remember it was interesting though as it was mostly practical. This was music tech at UWE.

Thought you might be interested in a music workshop?
Ah. But it is this the granular synthesis modular whatever programming workshop? Then it's not for me. I am too dumb for that stuff. I like a workshop proper; techno constructed haphazardly with real tools you can hold in your hand. Not an industrial workshop, though. Stuff made of wood, nice stuff, but not 'designed'. Amateur-ish. Anyone up for something like that?
