Can you be too old for music?

I listen to loads of rap on the drive to work but always turn it down when I get near the work car park as think I will look like a tit listening to Nines in my mid-30s. I definitely would.

Does that count.

I worked with two brothers who were in their late teens and the older one would give us a lift home sometimes. They were the poshest boys I've ever worked with and they lived in a very leafy suburb and yet would insist on driving with the windows down blasting rap about dealing drugs. It was amazing.

Well that is the issue really - I work in Hertfordshire most days and I'd look like a fucking knobhead with the windows down and gliding 808s everywhere. Motorways are fine.

I've probably told this "story" before but the day get rich or die trying came out I went and bought it from the market town cd shop and then put it on in my (all white) mates car as we drove to the skatepark. And of course we had the windows down blasting In da club and had to slow down at traffic lights and there was a couple of black people looking (was this projection?) sceptical at best. And we all stopped nodding our heads violently and probably cleared our throats and said "dear oh dear" or something.

no use for a witticism
I used to look down on older music fans who wore band t-shirts as a bit sad.

I've started wearing them again myself in my late forties
