I'd still love to get paid though and more importantly I'd love recognition and adulation and various disciples hanging on my every word

I asked Edmund is he wanted a Edmunds wonderful poetry thread but he said no he doesn't give away art for free.

i'm not sure if i did actually say that and i have certainly given away loads and loads of art for free in my time. but prior to becoming poet for hire i'd written perhaps three poems ever. now i've written perhaps fifteen thousand or so

I wouldn't think badly of you if you did, but it's definitely more impressive that you don't. Makes them all the more valuable

are these all editions of 1? do you ever repeat a verse on another day in hopes of refining it?

ask to inspect the merchandise. cast a curt
disdainful eye. and from behind? shrug.
withhold judgement. make an insulting offer. smile a
thin smile upon rejection.
this round of the eternal encounter
has already been won.

the bluff beyond your means
the empty air beneath your feet
perfectly secure.

exclusive view of the blue murk surround us
clarify a seagull soaring. the piercing imperial eye is
violence held in abeyance.
Daylight space dust sheet the trembling air.

on the ornamental turrets the flags flutter
like pinafores toy soldiers parade the ramparts
startle the bugle into life.

White-out. zudden illumination obliterates
all knowing.

an impossible melody insinuates itself
into the empty field time rotates the mythic frame
stars clunk into place switch on their dogmatic beams.

what i think makes these different from your older stuff is it's all about the richness of the imagery, with less of the statement-like prophet voice
