Ricardo Villalobos played this right near end at fabric this morning. Amazing to hear it on that sound system. Onward 'Midnite Request Line'! Breaching yet more genre boundaries!

that was so fantastic that he dropped that in the middle of a techno/house set. so unexpected, so fulfilling.

was it deffo Villalobos?

i heard it was Rolando that dropped it.....i nearly wet myself!

the thought of UR linking up with dubstep was too much for me.....but it appears i was wrong!

was anyone there?

would love to know definately either way....

its crazy, the tracks just keeps going and going.....everyones playing it! Radio One, breaks people, techno people, electro people......madness!

yeah it was Villalobos, he was just playing some deep house to finish up, and in it came unmixed... the rarely heard breakdown and big reggaeish drop got a big response

its sounds a lot like a classic slice of techno/electro eh... not that much of a stretch for it to cross over.

skepta and jammer on request line - mp3 on my blog

they dont really say anything that fits the beat
im still waiting for someone to write some bars that actually fit with the tone of the track

it definitely wont be jammer or skepta
those two are way too limited subject-wise and basic flow-wise
not that it matters - the track holds up incredibly well without vocals (it wasnt made with the intention of it being vocalled to begin with though so that makes sense)

i think trim or tinchy strider would be good. the track needs someone who's willing to leave gaps in their flow.

i heard gods gift did something good with it on rinse - never heard it though
not even dizzee sounded that good on it on logans show (i think he has more chance than anyone of doing something special with it though, or kano maybe - someone whos nimble and swift)
trim would be good i reckon, maybe stryder too - yeah, someone who can leave some space in their flow, who doesnt just inflict it with a barrage of words
i think it just needs someone who doesnt treat it as merely a random beat and works their way around it

I think Crazy T would be great on it actually- you wouldn't have thought he'd be good on the Gyp rhythm, but his messy style works quite well on self-contained instrumentals I reckon.
