Looks as though in Portugal they are putting roadblocks in place to stop anyone travelling across county borders (or boroughs or whatever) - it's gonna be for a week or something cos they are worried about people going to see their families or whatever over Easter. Not exactly clear when that's starting - some are saying at midnight tonight, others are saying midnight tomorrow.

yeh maybe that isn't the cleverest thing to do. i'm just thinking, for myself, it's important to go outside, to meet people, to have the sun touch my skin, to breath fresh air. it lowers my stress levels and i think it increases my immune system. i feel it. i get skin rashes when i'm stressed, it's directly related. and i think this goes for a lot of health problems.

me looking like a bronze god, shimmering skin, is gonna eat this virus alive. me, holed up in my room for weeks, looking like a worm with eye bags will be devoured.

i'm relatively lucky, my area is mostly industrial buildings, so going outside is no big deal, almost noone around ever. there's a supermarket nearby which i can walk to without crossing too many people's paths. must be much more frustrating being couped up somewhere like NK, which is where i think you said you live?

i live in nk, next to tempelhofer feld yes. it looked like a festival today. but i kind of get it. everything is closed, where else can you go to? plus, that field is enormous so there's enough space for everyone.

what i was getting at, following on from my post on the previous page is that we're only supposed to be out for essential activities right now. bit of exercise and groceries pretty much. because we're trying to avoid spreading this deadly virus thing that apparently can stay airborne for hours, remember? i just hope that people don't get so comfortable and complacent that the plod decide it's enough and then stricter measures are brought in and we're even more restricted.

edit: ah right, tempelhof is ideal, yeah. i was talking about little grass verges right by the pavement. in the middle of busy streets. it was like they were desperate to feel free. and don't get me wrong, i understand the urge. i have been outside a lot since lockdown. but i'm trying to avoid busy places when possible.

Thought for a moment you meant North Korea! Then I thought: if North Korea announced a lockdown, would anyone be able to tell the difference?

Anyone know why Boris would be in an ICU but not on a ventilator, surely if he's just getting oxygen he'll be on CPAP and not in an ICU.

Yeah that's true. Fucked that they are shutting parks. I don't know enough about it, but it seems wrong. Just ban the fucking joggers I say. I feel bad for the people without gardens, but there's plenty of outside space if you look for it. Went for a walk on Saturday and ended up walking round a deserted golf course, quite near where I live, but never been to before cos obviously you would get chucked off. Pretty sure I saw birds of prey hovering.

Although this sort of thing probably not quite as easy now in the big cities. Round where I am, there's still a fair bit of land that looks like the overgrown wastelands of your photos in the other thread.

Depends where you live. Round here is ok but other parts of London it would be vastly trickier.

Already thinking of a couple of walks for the weekend. So important to get some fresh air and experience the weirdness of being out right now

Still up at ten a.m - on a normal day this is probably the time I'm most dead to the world - and I'm sitting on the balcony having a fag and I am fucking amazed at how many people are out and about. Shocked in fact. I know that tonight they are (as I said earlier) blocking off all the roads between counties so that no-one can move from one borough to another, the idea is to stop people going to visit relatives in other towns and so on. Kinda crazy that they need to do that though right? Maybe these people are all planning to pre-empt that and go away today... or maybe it's like that every morning. My guess is the latter frankly.
