What's that mean?

top of the line. the old stereotype of the waiters at a four-star restaurant wearing white gloves, the white-glove treatment.

I didn't know the origin of white shoe until I looked it up: "derives from white buck oxfords, a men's shoe highly popular among Ivy League students in the 1950s." usually used to refer to a prestigious white-shoe law firm.

woops

is not like other people
"white glove" means something like hand picked, but for luxe items rather than produce, I think

Yeah EG financial institutions can offer "white glove" services tailored around the particular needs of a given high-end client, whereas the average retail customers get standard services.

One of the new social media platforms I'm working with is giving its early partners a white glove treatment, whereby the suggestions we make often end up being implemented in the platform itself.

not strictly american...North American, maybe.

SAN DIEGO – A federal drug investigation has resulted in the discovery of a sophisticated cross-border tunnel and charges against six people for conspiring to distribute 1,762 pounds of cocaine.

The subterranean passageway, stretching from Tijuana, Mexico to a warehouse in Otay Mesa just east of the Port of Entry, is estimated to be about 1,744 feet long, 61 feet deep and 4-feet in diameter, with reinforced walls, a rail system, electricity and a ventilation system.

that's almost the length of six US football fields.

i'm still not sure. you can get 'white glove' movers, i know that from when i was moving house and looking on reddit. i think they might pack all your stuff for you and take your furniture apart and that. i think 'white shoe' refers to like....i think it's the equivalent of the 'magic circle' for law firms or something like that, fuck knows, something for dicks i presume

I can't imagine eating one. this is also located in a mall with a good size food court, why wouldn't you just go there instead?

ive noticed from watching youtube videos on stret food that americans have a neurotic obsession with 'food hygeine' and the human as a contamination vector so i guess it might be to do with that too

Tbh you can get those microwave rustlers burgers in the co-op, or the new naan curry pockets or whatever theyre called; i dont actually think this seems like that much of an innovation, especially as it sounds like its rank

I do remember being impressed by the hot coffee in a tin machines in Japan, but i was also hungover and still smoking then. I did see a couple of ramen ones as well but whats the point when you can just go family mart etc

There are automated hot food vending machines all over the Netherlands, but they don't do anything as fancy as this. They just have burgers and hot dogs sat there (god knows for now long), and then it opens a little hatch when you put your money in. Never tried them myself.

Im sure these have "fried chicken" in as well? The thought of it really fucks with my head, i wasn't brave enough either

It's like someone just hates food and decided to take a terrible revenge on the whole concept of it.
