proper gilles peterson approved hedonistic house bizznizz. can't get enough of it, personally. let those long in the tooth and over the hill bleat and balk. for their flames are wilting and they'll never taste the nectar. house will keep on keeping on while they're stuck dusting off their relics of forgotten times. all the while claiming to be with it. give it a rest, gramps! house is the most timeless, deepest, psychedelicest music for the floor, and that's why it's still here, and all your shit is... well.. where?

speaking of underground legends with interesting side stories

the guy who plays the keys on this is ray castoldi. who released some sought after underground nyc classics back in the 90s, like

but he also happens to have been the in house organist at madison square garden since 89! 🎹

It rarely gets as surreal as this bio. Solid keyboard players bring a rare level of craft to proceedings. Subtle but remove their contributions and the tracks wouldn’t work.

In other news, a 42 year old Barry man was freed from a speaker today after refusing to leave. Police say Oliver @craner appeared in a highly euphoric state, speaking in biblical and evangelical tongues. Mr Craner’s solicitor declined to comment on the matter, stating only that his client had been radicalised through subterfuge online. The case remains open and ongoing.

Spin out cross referencing, a band called Nu Shooz turned up in a subset, but I can’t place the record title or remix without access to my vinyl. Groovers like this, owning the -120bpm range

while the cats are away the mice may as well play, eh?

marcus mixx is hard to beat for the trippier darkroom side of 80s house. he used to hang out with ron hardy back in the day. technologically basic, hardy would tell him what he wanted and marcus would make it happen.

heard this on the omar s fya #3 mix which remains probably my fave house mix ever. have prescribed it to several non house heads before and it pretty much converted them in one fell swoop

one more. armand managed to straddle the mainstream and underground like few before or since. fucking deft hard when it comes to making an irresistable groove (even though he did nick this particular bassline from dana kelley) all the sounds precision cut to make you get loose.
