That's the way to do it. I love software, but to really put some life in there the quickest way is running some stems out of the interface, through a piece or two of hw and back in. Cheap old samplers, mixers you can get for 100 quid. Works wonders
Do you've got stuff online? Somewhere in the Raw Productions thread. Always on the hunt for lo-fi house producers!

A shoutout for this newer house producer, does the lo-fi style well. This is infact a Larry Fingers edit, so of course it'll turn out great:

Have a tune in mind opening this thread on occasions, then you listen back and think metaphorically what might blend into the previous one

Deep Burnt = rinsed, Pepe hits on the nose @Corpsey @pattycakes_ too, nice picks

Multitasking juggler meets 1/1000 randomness. Thinking about French labels and a raft of names and melodies started flowing (too many) straddling either side of the millennium - Versatile, Kemetic Just’s better bits on French labels, Point G, Jeff K/Silver Network, Adults Only, Brawther - from a pile near the attic stairwell, others scattered in among the unsorted

Been teaching, eating, taking calls and then this ear worm started where you can’t recall the specifics. Something K, something French. Let the iPad play through a couple of playlists, no joy sad face (hate that brain fail)

Phone put down for a minute. Go back to analogue attic search. Stare blindly. Walk to random pile thinking fuck it. AND I FOUND IT......Kermit Sources - Play, optimal balance of steady beats/groove, vocal work, harmonics and spatial glow (YT’s is a bit slow)
