Wait, how did craner become the authority on music around here?

No one has ever questioned Craner's immaculate taste. He is accepted by everyone as the top aesthete. There is no point trying to undermine his authority. The velvet glove over the iron fist.

I've got no interest in undermining anyone. Just curious how the sacred cows became sacred. This place has it's fair share of them.

That's the way it is. Like it or lump it, pikelet or crumpet. If you had Craner's immaculate taste you too would be lauded for it. If you had the mathematical genius of Carol Vorderman, you would be held in the same respect and reverence she is.

People with special abilities are admired for those special abilities. Craner is admired for his. Carol Vorderman is admired for hers. This is the way of the world. We are drawn to their lights.

I never said it was. I don't know much about him and I'm trying to get to know him because he has this aura and respect around here, even though he hasn't been that active in the last few years (?) up until recently. One of the earliest members too? This place is full of myths and legends and I find it endlessly fascinating.

So if my posts seemed disapproving or my calling him a leaf (which, come on) seemed actually antagonistic, I didn't mean them to. I have zero reason for any beef with the leaf.

he started his top 100 with the following three songs:

1. Men at Work, Land Down Under
2. Bruce Springsteen, Dancing in the Dark
3. ABBA, The Day Before You Came

that's when i acknowledged his authority
