Sometimes as a joke for himself he says "Alexa? Can you play the last piece of sublime work Autechre ever did before they disavowed their true gift?"

"I'm sorry I do not recognise this"

"I do. Play Autechre,: Amber."

Sort of like going back to their hip hop electro roots a bit. But I don't like it, they've taken the zing out. I can imagine it working at 5am or something, with something else mixed in.

Yeah but this is what all the haters wanted. they got it. Simple tunes with tired production. They have no right to complain anymore.

here's your 21st century whitegirl indie soul, embrace it.

or alternatively take a trip into the unknown with me

Also I think their abstract stuff is more electro than this.

the original chipmunk aesthetics were disconcerting. they sounded like the overload of biological circuitry. Todays high pitched aesthetics are fatuous baby cuteness, which I have no interest in, boring toss for British and American queers, because they are unable to embrace fully the power of brown jihadist adult male sexuality, and I'm not British.

this refusal to take responsibility for the shit you propagate is a characteristicly middle class manchester/Ohio State university aesthetic. The attempt to look inviting and welcoming exposes the exclusionist hypocrisy for all it is. Classiness and sophistication is exclusive of course but it doesn't disavow that, whereas millennial cuteness must repress it as a trauma reflex. Because @shiels is unfamiliar with London rare groove the parallel will not make sense to him.

This is one of the worst songs in the world beloved by deconstructed club university students.

this stuff is actual pop music (not artpop or all that pretentious wank) in its most avant-garde out there form. its extreme in its own way, the tacky organ riffs, the foghorns, the arpeggiated synths. it's pure Kate Bush, undiluted pop music, relentless surrender to the pleasure principle. what's not to like? Carly Rae Jepsen et al only professionalised it and sucked all vitality out of it, and made it artpop.

it is a good song it’s a brilliant song. so good that your heroes destroyed it. Gentrified happy hardcore is a great description though ...but forgetting all it just sounds completely unique, shiny sugary synthetic and awkward. Make you feel a bit queasy

You're contradicting yourself here. if it was a good song the vocal would have been able to stand on its own. Yet it can't. I think Autechre ruined the song, but thats fine, it sounds like something made in 2 minutes. Bug Can and the Plastic Jam were ethereal.
