I feel a bit like this about purple-haired teenagers on Tumblr who think pretending to be a Pokemon constitutes a new and exciting gender identity. Obviously as a boring straight cis guy this has no impact on me personally, but I can imagine trans people looking at it and thinking "Fine, just hand the trolls and bigots an entire case of hollow-points, why don't you?"

I don't think it's for me to tell someone what they shouldn't be made uncomfortable by, regardless of how logical or how nonsensical it seems to me. I have a very real fear of frogs and my reaction to ever seeing one is horror and panic, and I appreciate knowing when one is going to appear so I can avoid it, even though 99% of people would find my near-phobia to be bewildering if not hilarious.

Sure, but tv caters to a broad public. RA doesn't. If anything, putting a trigger warning automatically washes their hands of culpability, ('we know this is bad and potentially implicates the whole industry but you can ignore it, honest guv!') and RA have been the worst in monopolising the middle class gentrification of dance music for indie kids.

After all if you're reading RA religiously and exclusively you're most likely well off, with a university degree. You can deal with shock horror, assholes being assholes and the way the dance music economy is run on the worst kind of neoliberal basis with no real compensation or structures for workers. Sometimes you just gotta own up to the truth.
