The Weather.

@Clinamenic have you made out ok with all the stormy weather on the west coast? I think things are better in SoCal, isn't that where you're located?

I think I neglected to mention the floods in Lisbon the other day, luckily I was dj-ing in Porto so avoided it all. Liza messaged to say it was raining heavily and I just thought "why are you telling me this?" and ignored it. Next morning woke up really blurry on Ricardo's sofa ("you didn't even try and catch your train!" were the first words I heard when I woke) and we went to eat some lunch, saw the pictures below on the telly and my jaw dropped, I wouldn't have thought it was possible.

All fine by the time I got back though so no harm done.

wettest winter in years. feel sorry for the fake painting man. see him there in the rain sometimes when i go past on the boats. not a good winter for the street earners of this world.

Yeah, I was thinking almost exactly the same yesterday when we went into Lisbon. There was one homeless guy who had a beautifully arranged tent, protected from the elements by an overhanging buildign and his possessions laid out both inside and outside the tent with a degree of care that would have shamed the most anal and OCD of office workers. He looked as though he was fine, but further down the street I saw a couple of guys without a tent, sleeping wrapped only in thick sleeping bags. I imagine that Lisbon is one of the few cities where you can get away with that most of the time, but I thought about the rain lately and how one deluge could potentially wreck the bags and cause enormous and unexpected problems, with what amounts to your home suddenly soaked through and with no real prospect of it drying.

Thank goodness, today for the first time in what feels like months it is dry and the sun is visible and hopefully we are going to move in the right direction.

I almost can't remember the last day it didn't absolutely slash it down for at least part of the day.

Actually starting to worry about @Clinamenic in flooded California, tagged him a couple of times in this thread to see how he's making out and no response. Stan phone home.

All good, sorry to cause alarm here. No real dangers where I'm living now, but this is the most rain I've ever seen here.

If I transmute my being into the virtual machine, I'm dragging this forum with me.
Eternity trapped in Stan's consciousness! I guess it could be a lot worse, I imagine it's very clean in there - very neat and tidy in fact.
Alternatively, imagine entering - just to pick someone completely at random - Corpsey's consciousness, i reckon it would probably be a little bit different in there.

No real need to spell it out to spell it out is there, but one will presumably be like living inside an Ipod, all glistening white and infinity rooms with everyone dressing like really neat new age gurus in white flowing robes or black polo necks speaking gobbledegook in hushed voices and eating fucking ridiculous food.

Whereas the other... I'm thinking kind of like one of those rubbish dumps with an enormous pile of tyres that's been burning for twenty seven years and the fire service have just totally given up on it. Except here it won't be tyres, it will be mountains and mountains of bestial filth constantly pouring a diseased black smoke into the nightmarish sky. Poisoned silver streams criss-cross the twisted and deformed landscape and - eking out an existence somehow - the people who cling to life there are a race of sickly troglodytes who walk around openly masturbating while dodging the monstrous Cheryl Cole that stomps around screeching and rubbing her knockers suggestively.

Er, no offence intended obviously.

I'm not sure that really deserves a laugh emoji, it writes itself really. From the carefully cultivated personalities those two gentlemen have constructed anyone on the board would have extrapolated to roughly the same point.

Though it kind of came out a bit meaner than I intended. Sorry about that, can't really be arsed to take it down though.
