Maybe its not as bad as it was before, but they have some fucking weird sadomasochistic going on where they speak to each other like dogs and do pile ons but keep coming back for more. Very unhealthy, but quite amusing to observe from afar sometimes

Maybe we need to sell it a bit more. Can you do this Luka? How will lives change once people participate? Are there fears we need to dispell?

yes, I think the first fear we need to dispel is the fear of not being good enough. You are good enough. You're perfect just as you are.

But will people actually get that impression reading through some of these threads? I think there is a (usually implicit) oneupmanship that fuels at least the intellectual matters - but to minimize that is to pasteurize the whole place, no? However, how can we keep that intact, and still keep the doors open (in text and in spirit) for new members?

Yeah but still, I'm sure many of us would mean those words, and yet carry on in a way that would still make it difficult for new members to feel good enough. Because I don't know about you, but I'm certainly not bearing this in mind for every post I make.

Your earlier point about new members having to put thought into their first posts - I think that is healthy. Where do you think we stand on that, currently?

I think what constant escape is trying to say is that we need to raise the bar. We’re fucking about too much.

I agree. I've been too easy going. Genial dad at the barbecue smiling at the children, bottle of Becks in one mitt.

Which is why i encouraged him to stick around, guarded him and whispered in his ear. i saw the potential
