My brother liked it but he said the original film was too weird for him and is a big fan of the book. I have the book but it's been staring at me since my 35th birthday without being read. It looks like a tome to me. I'm watching the original film again tonight and know it better from my record collection. The new film does not look very good from the trailer but I'll watch it at some point.

Prefer this though... there must be millions of tunes with Dune quotes or samples. You can still straight away that it's yhst kind of thing.

Anyway, what I should have said in my review, although all those negative points I made were true and I stand by them, I didn't hate the film as a whole. It wasn't great by any stretch and I felt quite bad that the three people I went with were not enjoying it... but I hope they do make part and if they do I will try and catch it in the cinema (though not with them).

im not plugged in but it feels like Ive seen more excitement today about the sequel getting greenlit than excitement about the film in theatres right now.

I guess it's because it's breaking news and the first one's already out and been seen. That and the Villeneuve fans want to see him complete the project as intended.

If it really takes off then there's potential for another sprawling franchise too.
its doing very well financially, and I feel like the industry has been looking for a star vehicle for chalamet and zendaya for awhile now. its destined

I can't believe that Wonka origin story's real, sounds like fanfiction or a podcaster joke.
