Bloke on the left is an old mate. Left the army after 20years working his way into the livery stables of the Queens Guards. Their officer mess fees are £100k a year and the salary is £35k-ish. Now he takes ex army officers round Scottish rivers fly fishing. Think the man on the right is saying 'cheers plebs'.

can't fish but i did CCF at school and i considered joining army before waking up

I can well believe that actually, talks the talk behind the protection of the laptop but in real life he's rather shy and quiet, ever so polite

& to be fair he was not at all in his element, i'd dragged him well outside of his comfort zone,

as someone pointed out here fairly recently: some of us and and some aren't cut out for office life

I'm sort of shy. It does depend slightly on the ground the engagement is taking place on etc. working in hospitality is what got me over it. It teaches you to develop a false self that you can hold up as a shield and talk to literally anyone.

I do sit out in public with a sign saying poet on it which is not really possible if you're pathologically shy.
