Bedroom Techno

What's the verdict on this kind of techno? Call it bedroom techno / after hours techno. Basically mellow and ambient techno. Most of the tracks I know are from the 90s and it's all I really listen to these days.

This is one favourite, the two note pad in this is reminiscent of being outside of club or house party and hearing the ‘glow’ from a distance.

Wondering what Dissensus makes of this kind of music?

I like what you said about the tune more than the tune itself.
Edit - hope that didn't sound negative. I want to hear a tune that got across that feeling you described.

:)

Just to test the water by going in another direction, as there's quite a few tracks in a similar vein, and I look forward to hopefully discussing them, this track is at the other end of the spectrum to the Stasis track and probably goes to show that Bedroom Techno is just ‘made up’ but it’s so grainy and off kilter it’s another track I love.

I like this stuff a lot. The B12 album on Warp, Electro Soma was a favourite of mine, still is. Saw them perform it in Hackney Wick a couple of years ago and it was great

I've been listening to this B12 track a lot this evening. As it's called 'New Age' I think if we're comparing it to most new age music it stands head and shoulders above.

As the above Neil Landstrumm track has similar skippy beats to some early Carl Craig tracks (my easiest point of reference), here's a CC track that shows 'bedroom techno' does not have to be wishy washy. Thoughts?

Perhaps it's time to try to define bedroom Techno, if such a thing really exists. I learned about the term from Youtube playlists but it seems to make sense.

not sure I get the "bedroom" tag, to me that implies super homemade lo-fi sounding. most of this sounds like is IDM, maybe with a splash of the early Detroit techno.

Other than Papua New Guinea, FSOL never really clicked with me. To me that is more on the IDM side of Bedroom Techno. I am an Autechre fan, reading mixed opinions on here, but wouldn't class them as Techno.
