im not acting the cunt. im just pointing out its a Punch & Judy show. I'm disappointed he's become a reactionary obviously, it's always sad when that happens, but also it seems a bit pointless to rehash arguments which are a)so basic and b)have been made with more wit, pananche and understanding by craner and barty and others.

All you achieve is showing up the piety you perform when you're wagging your finger at craner about Iraq or whatever as a completely empty and cynical act. Precisely the sort of thing you often rail against. Then you're straight back to reacting with laugh emojis to a post about genocide.
Well all know you don't really give a blind fuck about anything except the online bantz, so why not drop this performance of being a great socialist and pwning the Tories? I don't even mind the pisstakery, it's the disingenuous piety that's so annoying.

The dissolution of the UK's EU membership is akin to something like the Hanseatic League really- an alliance of member states gradually dissipating, leaving some to flourish and others to flounder and dissipate. Does it mean that we are to be usurped by the Swedes? Maybe not but they are in an equal position of independence. The Baltic Sea is less important now.
If I viewed our ruling classes as intelligent- I don't really- I'd argue that the UK's relatively benign climate and island location was the real precedent for leaving the EU, mostly with the view that as the climate problems escalate worldwide the chances are that "we*" are in a relative state of global power while hotter climates burn and climate refugees become a real thing and not a hypothetical future issue. Things like that lad from UAE buying up 4 billion quid's worth of London property indicate to me that I'm not the only person who views things this way. The huge uptake of wind-power certainly supports ideas like this.
Milder weather during the climate apocalypse and lackadaisical tax laws could ultimately allow Britain to emerge as a fairly attractive climate refuge for the wealthy, although fuck knows what that means to the common Brexit-voting gentleman and their views on immigrant finances. I'm sure they can be talked around though.
