You should go on a bogie trip, you'll get a ton of good cocktails. The Maltese falcon and the big sleep are very good. The treasure of the Sierra madre is brilliant. Fred c dobbs one of the immortal cinematic characters. And Walter Huston is good in that too. "Burros".

Play it again Stan?

Good work... though of course, as I'm sure you know, that line is not in the film. Kinda weird that Woody Allen named his film after a misquotation, was it just a mistake or what? It reminds me of that band Thompson Twins - if they were big enough fans of Tintin to name themselves after two of the characters shouldn't they have been big enough fans to know that Thomson and Thompson were not even brothers, never mind twins?

You've seen all the good ones then.

What about, In A Lonely Place?

I was watching a film the other day and someone was drinking a cocktail called an Arnold Palmer so I looked it up.... oh dear oh dear, imagine giving your name to a non-alcoholic cocktail. Gotta be one of the lamest ways for your name to be commemorated. I guess that arguably the situation for Gary Glitter is even worse but he's probably actually glad that his name is cockney for shitter cos the only other thing he's known for is being a massive paedophile... ok, maybe he sang a song or two but I can't imagine that they'll be turning up on many people's desert island discs or equivalent, they will be written out of history and only exist in sample form as eg

reading that back it's one of the most unfocused posts I've ever put on dissensus which must automatically mean it's in the running for one of the most rambling and disjointed brain leakages ever on the board. Still, it feels as though it would be cheating to change it now just cos I've realised that it's total bobbins so I'll leave it as it stands.

Lately I've been having a sherry & tonic, trying both sweet and dry. I've enjoyed both, especially the sweet.

Another good one recently was a gin & tonic with blueberry concentrate and rhubarb bitters. That may be my favorite G&T variation so far, perhaps beating the one with muddled mint and elderflower liqueur.

Yesterday I did a variation of a Manhattan, with bourbon instead of rye, and dry sherry instead of sweet vermouth, but it didn't wow me.
