They aren't in negotiation with an inner self, there's no tension, no angst, no compromise, no dispute with an internal voice, they have no conscience, there's absolutely nothing there. Very unnerving.

Even American blockbusters are convulsed with paranoia and self flagellation now. (I'm thinking of the MCU here.)

There's the same desperate desire over here to powerful and confident again but I feel (perhaps wrongly) that the Make Britain Great Again contingent is taken even less seriously here than it is there. Maybe that's me in my metropolitan liberal groupthink bubble, or maybe it's true and patriotism is simply much less widespread in England than it is in the US.

I remember going to see a Hollywood blockbuster with a Texan friend and suddenly realising that he is always the hero of every film, can cast himself into that role naturally. The whole machinery of the entertainment-propaganda-indoctrination industry centres around the white American male.

Tbh I don't even know if that's true. I might have made it up. I'm trying to remember if it's true or not.

This thread could one day be seen in hindsight as a formal turning point, a certain concession, the dematerialized completion of the revolutionary chiasmus: material win, material equalization, dematerialized equalization, dematerialized win.

Don't question it. Its already been written.

There is a mutual curiosity, isn't there?

We're mirror images of each other, only it's a distorting mirror.

Or perhaps it's all one way.

I see America as the Mufasa to the English's Scar.
