Dissensus Raw: The Compilation - A Thread

Just thinking a bit more about the deadline. Wondering how long you lot feel you'll need to get something together? Because as @polystyle said, it's better if it doesn't drag on and become a chore, and then we all lose momentum. I'm fine waiting until the end of May personally, but ymmv, so throw in any ideas you have and let's figure out what will work best.

Well I'm pretty much done so I think we should see what everyone's got.

Is the general theme going to be fairly melancholic, then? Nostalgic, perhaps? I suppose we probably want to avoid "hauntological rave", which is a bit of a cliché by now.

Within those parameters, could we use "The Past-imperfect Sound Of London" as a theme? Or is that just pretentious nonsense?

It's the right time to be putting ideas out there.
There is in fact a whole wide world and web wanting to get out and rave, rock or what have you.
Londonium is a slice.
Some degrees view out of 360.

'Raving in The Shard' sounds just fine ( as posited in an old hoary thread ).
Raving under trees
Raving under / over the Moon

Thought. posting piece early may or may not come back and haunt.
One suggests keeping one's powder dry into a possible - deadline.

Otherwise there would seem some risk of people starting to say 'I want - or don't want to be track listed next to ... that',
possibly too much 'comparing'
and loses the surprise of pattycakes and all you original posters about Diss Raw looking in the end line goodie bag and saying
'Oh look what we have here'

I'd give wide leeway for those who were on the thread for long time and who eventually brought it up again and now , in process of coming into being.
Very wide ...
Like world wide and cyberspace long

Yeah but all music comes from either London, New York or Chicago, doesn't it

Yeah but all music comes from either London, New York or Chicago, doesn't it.

I dunno , does it ?
Anyone else in from anywhere else ? Japan, China, Euro - no German action ?
Any women, from anywhere ?

Anyway, even if the music came only from those places, why not think of other locations , settings, also other music besides rave - most anything one wants to express in sound or music form - how about it people ?

I was kidding, of course. Even I, the most musically ignorant person here, have heard of Die Toten Hosen!

2) acid house for retirees
3) post-covid paranoidal bleep tek, copyrighted by @thirdform
4) 3/4 festival edm, as suggested by @mixed_biscuits
5)

My vote would be no theme.... the theme is it's all dissensus people, what more you want? You got a whole range of skills and ideas, should be enough, why constrain it further?
Obviously I say that as someone who will struggle to make anything so I'm biased but still valid I think.

Def valid.
There could be something to be said for attempts and tries ...
I would hope no one wants just a mix of varieties of techno , club musics

No genre esp. needed - same time i am fine w the idea of getting back out again, be it pagan, skyscraper rave, graveyard dance post COVID
Genre if one wants it
Mutant , hybrid surprises - with the brain power @ Diss. plus whatever gets one through it would surely be more interesting to see what pops,
' out there',
inspired crazy,
music one might dream of doing

inspired fails well, they can be vetted : )
