The big problem Detroit has is its just one song with minor variations. It's not a bad song, as far as it goes, but I've heard it before.

I mean its funny to think about but guys like willystally and dem not singling out him in particular but his generation of bloggers are salty at the youngers cause in order to be privy to a subculture they weren't a part of they had to do alot of legwork to learn about it whereas now its all laid out there.

See also you notice with some of them in New York who love playing up things that are meant to represent the hoods there like chopped cheeses n shit it's to make up for the fact that those places don't look like what they were 20-30 years ago and they're in part to blame for it lol

if someone was to argue that Atlanta's influence has been not just a net negative but a major disaster-catastrophe i'd probably go along with it 100% though tbh

i mean you could and there's some people who could definitly agree with this but i feel like you have to be careful with how you frame it so you don't just sound like one of those guys on thecoli who lie about listening to rap since 1978 and blame the south for ruining the music

yes the fact that one has Jay Z and the other has Ye was purposeful

If you need context on why i think these songs have aged badly i'll go into detail or just why they're so weird to listen to now

This thread isn't really working for me. You don't seem interested in what I've got to say about these tracks. Nor does anyone else. It seems more like an opportunity to have a go at me, or take the piss. I dislike an overly antagonistic conversation. So I've stopped listening to them.

It was going OK but I said snow was better than busta then it went south. Eminem, I dunno, no thoughts really. His voice always did my head in a bit.

I remember a while back in the Kanye thread you was looking to fix your notoriously bad taste

Shows how quickly that got abandoned

I don't think I ever said that. Its really only luke who goes on and on about my bad music taste. Ad infinitum. Then thirdform jumps on it occasionally when he's bored.

@catalog i thought i should let you know that your boy Snow has a hour long Vladtv interview not that i'm suggesting you go watch it because DJ Vlad is a terrible person but its there

also that Snow looks haggard in the video

First heard about jvc force through the early autechre edit

which I listened to a lot when on mushrooms and still think is a very intense thing, both the original and the autechre edit.

But this one is also really good

Faintly sampling a public enemy's rebel without a pause (another autechre favourite) specifically that famous JBs "The grunt" section. So sort of a sample of a sample type thing.

And a Manchester connection despite autechre!
