We had a thread about the Wilhelm Scream in the "art, film etc" section


And this article in the Guardian gives a similar treatment to the "dun dun dunnn" cue - its origins and which version is most common now etc


I find this kind of thing really fascinating. How they get created and become common currency with their origins lost in time. There is obviously an overlap here with library music (that article above about the melodramatic sting above interviews a guy from KPM).

I would be interested to read about other similar things... I guess another classic would be the cheesy Chinesey one that is used when a scene opens in a Chinese restaurant or something. I just put "Chinese intro" into google and it came up with this



So where did that come from? Not China I'm guessing... and what are the other classics in this field?
