1900 Wednesday 14th December - Idle Rich's film night at In Bloom FREE ENTRY

For a long time I've been lamenting the fact that there is nothing like this in Lisbon... and finally I just decided that I would have to do it myself. I've been speaking to this guy Mattias who runs a bar called In Bloom and he has been very enthusiastic and supportive and he is gonna help me launch this - hopefully the first of many.

In Bloom, Lisbon from 1900 on Weds 14th December FREE ENTRY

1900 doors open and DJ Idle Rich plays film soundtracks for your delectation
2030 Film wil be shown TBA but you can rest assured it will be underground, unknown and off the hook
2200 DJ Idle Rich plays more killer soundtracks

If there is enough support for this then the idea is that it will become a monthly thing with a crazy psychedelic film shown each time. Also, if I can find enough people who collect soundtracks in Lisbon there will be guest DJs, and the idea is that also there will be the opportunity to become a member and then you can suggest films for future events, and also vote on which films we choose.

Also, depending on how things go I may be able to do weekend events showing two or more films with a common theme - but the main thing is to come along and support on Wednesday and make sure I get to do it regularly.

Idle Rich and In Bloom team up to bring you a night showing films that no-one else is - starting at 1900 this Weds, DJs spinning soundtrack wax will welcome you to the first of many - soon to become legendary - nights combining underground and overcrazed films with the sounds they deserve.
Music will begin around 7pm the SECRET FILM will start at 2030 and, after that, to ease your transition back to reality we will reel you back in with some slightly more relaxed soundtrack music.

In the end I went for a load of short films cos decided would be too much pressure on the first feature.... went for quite simple ones that I knew would be popular... you could say I chickened out - La Cabina, The Mascot, Meshes of the Afternoon, Visa de Censure X... still, it went well, people clapped.

There are more details on the films in the post I put on fb/insta saying thank you

Thanks a lot for coming to the film night guys.... I really appreciate all the support and we will definitely carry on in the new year, first date will likely be towards the end of January or the start of February. If anyone has any thoughts - good or bad - about last night or things we should do in the future then please message me about it. Personally I thought it worked well showing short films but the aim is ultimately to show feature length films, I'm thinking that for the next events I might do one short and then one feature length film but with an interval (or perhaps two intervals depending on how long the film is) - let me know how you would feel about that. Also, if there is anyone who collects soundtracks and would be interested to come and play please get in touch - I'm afraid there will be no payment, the night is free entry and of coures I'm not making any money, it's all done for the love.

For those who are interested the films we showed last night were

La Cabina https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065513/?ref_=tt_mv_close

The Mascot https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0025477/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

Meshes of the Afternoon https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0036154/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Visa de Censure X https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0201313/

Once again, thank you very much for coming down - I was really surprised by the number of people who came along and the enthusiasm of all the attendees.
