not sure if this has already been mentioned, but did any one see Ghetto's 'jump the shark' moment in the latest RWD? dressing up as the Joker from batman and getting interviewed by Peaches Geldof...not a good look.

I eventually came to the conclusion that it was amazing - purely because of Ghetto asking if they were going to stab each other after hearing about the boyfriend's band breaking up, and then shouting COMA!!!! when he heard about the dude getting beaten up. Peaches Geldof barely said a word, which makes me suspect she was really high or too intimidated.

what the f*** lol?

i'm glad he's done that...just to show man ain't just about fight bars and bragging - he's got a sense of humour

actually thinking about it...that could be a 'jump the shark' moment as how do you spin that when you get sent for?

and why does geldof's child keep getting put in places like she's nice? ain't she like 16?

anyway I was thinking...well listening. I've been listening to some of bristol's grime beatmaking talent (joker, gemmy, jakes) through myspace and their just next level. like totally gone. but why is it that only out of london beatmakers are doing this? cos the one's in london...the beats are pretty straight...I don't know how to phrase that better but like the beats in london are...normal...if you get me

but their stuff just blows my mind. the only person who I could think of that could stand next to them consistently is Terror

why is this though? does london advantage make ppl lazy or what?

sorry for the lack of clarity

I know what you mean. Plastician was touching on that a while ago, saying grime producers keep to a pretty linear format to their songs. He also used Joker as an example to producers of whom you can play a whole instrumental without it becoming boring.
http://www.myspace.com/guidoproductions was posted on rwd a while ago, and he fits into that picture aswell (even from bristol).
They're not very mc friendly, which is not a good or bad thing, just different. I'd like to have some vinyl of these guys.

Joker is generally an amazing producer/composer. I've been listening to Stuck In The System non-stop since I got it. Big up Pinch for bringing it out, quite a mafia he's gettin going up there.

i like skinny man even though he looks like paul whithouse off of the fast show and he's got that weird strangulated pinched accent that only people in north london have, highbury, camden, archway, they all speak like that and no one else in the world does. north london is a weird area.

Did you hear him the other night too? He was on Logan's show promoting his new grime track "Smoking Ban". He's also the inventor of Gullystep, which is the best name for a type of music I've ever heard, GULLYSTEPPAZ! From the freestyles he was doing I think he would sound wicked on a set with DEE, just because I think their voices would complement each other, and they both come up with some off-the-wall lyrics.

i thought you were joking but he actually WAS on logans show! i like smokin ban more than any of his other tracks ive heard before. he sounds a lot fiercer than he used to. i rate him for reaching out to logan - thats great. if it gets grime guys to approach their writing a bit differently, than even better.

but i know what you mean, i got loads of friends who went to acland burghley/La Swap in kentish town area and they all speak EXACTLY the same.

a mate of mine buys weed from skinnyman on an irregular basis. actually he's not my mate. he's a mate of a mate. anyway.

I think Skinnyman left Leeds at around age 10. I didn't rate his LP all that much but I'd love to hear the new stuff (I like him with MUDFAM and on various other tracks).

Ruff Sqwad at Cargo on Sat? How's that - the website says it is Beans who I was thinking of going to go to anyway, are they billing with him;) Skepta launch will be heavy.

that guy actually ruins my point cos I don't think his stuff is that good lol but yeah you get me. like everything else though just when will this stuff be released?

could my point be considered though ppl? just why do london beatmakers beats seem so lazy except for an elite, very elite, few? it's a bit embaressing (bad spelling) for these bristol mans to be making such next level s*** I think

I like Skinny a lot but that track ain't good. my boy told me the Skepta album launch was oct 11th as he spent time with him for an forthcoming article (info soon come when I get it) but obv even skepta got the dates wrong. apparently you mans fav coki (he is sick though) will be playing there

ruff sqwad? someone confirm the dates please
