Round 2

I figure that 14 months is a decent enough mourning period. Even with the shocking lack of reviews it was still good fun.

Who's in for Round 2?

Email me at chef dot napalm at gmail dot com and I'll start the list.

Or we could do the world’s first pan-forum mixtape/podcast. The first participant mixes 5 minutes worth of tunes, uploads it (as a WAV-file) to some file-host; the second participant continues where the first one leaves off, adds 5 minutes worth of tunes and uploads the resulting WAV-file (now 10 minutes long) to a file host; the remaining participants continue in the same way until everybody has made their contribution to the mix. I think it would sound very interesting as everybody has their own partialities.

Lovely idea, GB, but 5 minutes of uncompressed wav is ~60Mb. That's going to add up pretty fast. Did you have a specific file host in mind?

sounds slightly similar to something i instigated on the planet mu forum a couple of years back - quickshots - each person makes a 1:30 track which continues on from the person beforehand, then they all get mashed together into an ADD tinged megamix

and 2007 is almost done.

(nerd trivia - the first contains mike paradinis colaborating with his son playing violin)

i think this sounds like a great idea.. . especially as everyone here has such a wide range of tastes... john cage next to jammer or sun ra and pat benetar would not suprise me...

count us in, will break out the decks and raid the crates...

think it would be easier if one person was emailed all the seperate bits and stuck them together on something like soundforge...

i just did a minimal/dubstep/hip hop mashup with some timbaland, cyrus, sleeparchive and my own beats amongst others [all beat matched:rolleyes: ]...

Would love to do this, but a bit worried my selections would be a bloody disappointment, there are people on here who'd have every single one, I'd imagine.

Though if I can find my tape of my ex-flatmate's prank call to a student radio station, my compilation will be worth its weight in rare bootleg cassettes.
