Hot Old Skool Babes

My gf is 5'2"and bosses me (I'm 5'7") around like nobody's business.

I once slept with a woman who's only half an inch or so shorter than me, and I'm a shade over 6'1"...women taller than me are fairly few and far between. There's a woman who must be 6'4" or thereabouts who works at my old university, it was hard not to do a bit of a double take every time I saw her.

nah you are more like this chick in me and Sloane's favorite flick:

but (edit: maybe) not QUITE as crazy ;)

Didn’t know Possession had such a following round here! I absolutely love it too! Especially how it transmogrifies from the most true-to-reality jealousy drama ever (some people think they overact, but I find the acting 100% plausible) into a slash movie. And, YES, Adjani is stunning! The clip below is case in point.

Most of my guy friends love tall women, including my bf. When I worked for a couple of months in SoHo, it was like being in tall women model heaven. The thing about tall women is they're usually slender or have small frames, so I don't think tall women are necessarily unfeminine-looking. I also have no idea how you can deduce that someone is a "control freak" by looking at their face or watching them act in a film.

I can see how it would be weird at 5'7" (which is how tall I am) to be with someone who was exceptionally tall, like 6'5" or taller, doesn't matter if you're male or female. But a matter of an inch or two? Not an issue.

For sure - and who is to say that there might not come along that six foot five girl that I like?
As this has become a kind of self-disclosure thread I will say that I am about five ten and so is my girlfriend - we argue about who is tallest but basically it's me unless she's in heels which I count as cheating.

It's a very shouty film and I know a lot of people who would hate it but my guess is it's like marmite - although I don't know why I say that as I don't actually know anyone who hates it, I just know people that I assume would.

Wasn't it begun as a self-disclosure thread? What could be more personal than revealing which old school babes you find hot? ;)

I always figured part of the appeal of heels was based on levelling the playing field a little and bringing women and men face-to-face.

I used to know a couple who were something like five foot nothing and six foot six (that's F and M respectively, of course - though the other way around would have been cool), and they seemed perfectly happy about it. At any rate, I never heard her yell "Stop being so fucking tall!" at him, so I assume they were happy.

Hardly an 'old-skool babe', but rather, a babe in a decidedly old-skool milieu: the woman (presumably an actress/singer in the production) in the poster for Cosi Fan Tutti on at the ENO at the moment.

The poster for it on the tube has that image but it seems a lot darker, which works better.

There's more eroticism in that eyebrow and those lips than in all the tits-n-ass in the world. I know this because of SCIENCE.

Spotted in Argos today (of all places). Woman around 30 dressed like Joan in MadMen, vintage tight-fitting dress, strawberry blonde hair is one of these knots pointing upwards and looking like she just walked off a film set. Never seen anyone dressed like her (even in London, but then I do not hang around that vintage bar place in SoHo where you sometimes see men dressed like Kid Creole).

Shame I missed this thread..some great images. Can't help truly admiring 'babes' from 40s to 60s (mostly, to try and focus a bit) and wondering about what constitutes 'beauty' when looking at women considered 'hot' in 80s flicks and thinking 'nah' (the hair! the shoulder pads! the make-up! no, no, no). Whereas any 'hot' woman from the eras I've mentioned just looks superb (as many of you have demonstrated).

No idea about today not being an avid follower of modern film (old fart, I know). - but the ones I see who may be beautiful are often busting out all over the shop thus negating aspects I treasure such as sophistication and subtlety - admittedly these were imposed by censorship in days of old, thus the aesthetic I treasure evolved (I'm no fan of the big, blonde and busty types of the 50s either).

To me there's a beauty in, say, Veronica Lake, that can't easily be defined...a kind of mystique, if you like. Anna K as presented by that pretentious bastard/lover JLG I could watch forever...not lustily...just...(rendered speechless).

Someone mentioned clothes? (did they?). Everyone looks a mess today - fact. Men and women - no class...bus it down Oxford Street from the top deck and look for style that isn't lazy street 'chic' or plain boring.

I'm so unhip (?) I think the clothes maketh the movie stars of old as much as their faces/figures - whereas today's vulgarians seem to have to show a lot more, have bigger lips'n'tits...yawn.

I mean, phew, I've seen some hotties in my time but this chick is something else, I'm telling you...

Edit: haha, good timing for it to finally appear.
