I am certain that there are numerous other reasons beyond the sexual for "partnering up", but in terms merely of sexual attraction... I'm not sure... for some I would imagine a fetish is little more than icing on a cake that's already pretty delicious, for others it is the only thing that results in arousal... I would have thought that sexual desire like most other responses becomes attenuated, acclimatized to a given stimulus... so if you live in a society saturated with sexual imagery, to the level whereby it becomes banal, there would be a certain trend towards requiring a greater extremity of stimulus to create the response (arousal, desire, whatever)... altho whether this works on a person by person basis or merely on a societal level, I don't know. Do people get more "hard core" as they get older...? Perhaps in certain rarefied S&M circles, but not generally.

I hope I find older women attractive as I get older, 'cause at the moment they do nothing for me at all. It would be terrible not to be able to -eh- perform for my future wife/lady friend...if anyone could ever be arsed marrying me.

I've got a kind of gut feeling (augmented by personal experience) that they do - I hope I can arrest that though.
I also hope that I find older women attractive as I get older, I did get in to a conversation about this once with an older guy (I'm not quite sure how old) who explained his celibacy of recent years by the fact that "as you get older you still fancy younger women" - I found that quite depressing but I'm hoping that won't happen with me, so far throughout my life my taste has aged as I have.

As you get older, you tend to value a good conversation, which is hard if you're 30 and going out with someone's who's 17. Before anyone reads that as patronising, I mean you don't really want to have the types of conversation you had 13 years ago, unless you're on some nostalgia trip. I personally wouldn't go out with anyone under 24, but that's just me. Also, when you see way older blokes in their 40s with very young girls you get this automatic anti-paedo tabloid knee-jerk 'urrgh' moment.

I have no problem personality-wise, it's just physical. 18-28 seems to be the limit for me.
