i even think the muted brass albums list worked better in the WTV format than it may have in a blog. never would have guessed, but somehow tangential points seem less like digressions the way Woebot TV handles them than they would on blogs.

(looove John Hassell, and wish i had more by him--if no one's heard it Eno and Hassell's "Fourth World" stuff is amazing. "Delta Rain Dream" is so gorgeous...)

Lovely, lovely stuff, as ever.

And thanks for turning me on to the Juana Molina album - beautiful!

It would be great if you could split out the audio stream and make it a simple podcast - would make for great listening on the tube :)

WOW-bot, this is fantastic; the pre-Burial horn digression is especially brilliant.

Big improvement on the voiceover recording/levels. And very nice dancing! Not to mention the multiplying Woebots (cf Being John Malkovich)!!

Which Miles album cover is shown?

And is that a snippet of the Human League's Love Action intro in the mix on Egyptian Empire's Horn Track?

You know those "list programmes" which are a staple in the UK now, where the same old stuff gets dragged out in slightly different, ever more annoying variations?

This is exactly the opposite of that. Fantastic - exactly the sort of thing I want to watch - lovely format and a perfect length. Will be massive.

Love the little personal touches as mentioned above - was surprised by how many of the "horn" rekkids I have.

And is that a snippet of the Human League's Love Action intro in the mix on Egyptian Empire's Horn Track?

Yes, I thought that.

hi everyone!

thanks for your comments. gush all you like, very nice :)

don't think that sample at the head of the egyptian empire track came from human league. sounds like a bit of desert muezzin or summat.

the miles lp is agharta. especially fab cover on that 'un.

thanks to dharry for spotting the improvements in the audio...

the idea is that the last episode isn't available... only the current one. this has as much to do with bandwidth as anything else. also i think perhaps it makes it a bit more of "an event". and there's no plans to offer it up as a download for similar reasons.

Bring out the vacuum
I also thought it sounded like a sample of 'Love Action'. So we're up to 3 people who thought the same thing independently.

a wonderful wooden reason
The dancing is crucial and funky fresh. But is Woebot disagreeing with Xylitol's assessment of the bottom of the On-U barrel?

I'm luvvin the woebot programmes, great work, good skanking

I won't be able to read his posts now without thinking of him either playing imaginary tennis shots when approving or or wagging his finger when disapproving

Sounds like a downwards sweeping high-pass filter on a sawtooth wave. From Love Action.

thats what i heard, great track

both of them.
very good again sir, agartha isn't on cd which is insane. i wonder how many of miles' bits aren't on cd.

This is some of the most refreshing material I saw in ages. Informed, critical and passionate. It's like skipping through the wire and hearing on the spot what is written about. Wished I checked this out earlier.

Could someone give me a list of the 10 records of sustained notes that appear in the context of the Burial review in this latest episode?

Spam

I just did a huge spam mail-out for WOEBOT.tv.

The reason being that by it's very nature episodes aren't as frequent as on blogs. I reason people might get annoyed continually having to check for new episodes. Subscribers will get a single plain text email when a new show is up.

If for whatever reason you don't get this email go to www.woebot.tv/subscribe.html and you can enter your email address.

The next episode is going up probably the middle of next week!

A bit late to replying to this and I might be chewing the recycled fat.

But this is excactly the sort of TV programmes BBC4 should be doing.
Or Channel 4 (instead of their late night strands of obvious indie rock).

Funny, different, fresh , non-linear, engaged and informed (and I am not only saying that 'cause I was the lucky receiver of half of a mate's big giweaway of GG originals in 1978, including the debut).

Add to that Matt's moves and we have a winner.
