Newish House/Techno LP's I should own

My listening habits don't allow for 12"s.

So:

I've picked up the Pantha du Prince album on Dial and I love it.

I have the Mattius Aguayo album too.

Theo Parrish's Sound Sculptures Vol 1 is one its way to me.

I have a taste for the melifluous and melodic.

Where next?

the Field album, 'From Here We Go Sublime' is fantastic.

I'd say Convextion's not melodic enough, maybe?

Two that come to mind that might suit your tastes:

My My - Songs For The Gentle (Playhouse)
Gio Boratto - Chromophobia (Kompakt)

You can stream bits of both on beatport.com

I've orderd the Boratto and like the sound of My My but there seems to be no vinyl release.

You're right about Convextion; it sounds super-lush but I know that day-to-day I like a degree of propulsion and melody.

It looks like I'll have to wait for a re-issue of efdemin's album. I checked joris voorn's mix on RA a while ago. I'm slightly wary: a bit too polite sounding, perhaps. I'll have a listen to the Nubian Minds track on the littlebit DL you offer, Subvert.

It's from last year, but I think Michael Mayer's Immer 2 mix is incredible.

(Am taking mental notes of the other stuff suggested in this thread- already have the Pantha one and it's great!)

Kompakt Total 8 is very good, tracks by Koze and Kohncke stand out.

Andy Stott - Merciless (Modern Love) is essential

Deepchord - Coldest Season (Modern Love) is also good (similar to Convextion, more melodic imo)

Villalobos just did a mix for fabric which consists entirely of his own, unreleased tracks. Anyone heard it? Not going to hijack this thread but will start a new topic when I've listened, I'm sure it will be suitably divisive.

Seconding Gui Boratto- "Chromophobia" the first half is brilliant
The Field's "From Here We Go Sublime"is a bit meh as the piss poor engineering quality and lack of decent sound design becomes pretty wearing.
Any takers for Thomas Fehlmann's "Honigpumpe"? Pretty decent woozy ambient-sludge techno...
Also the False album "2007" is ok. Just ok, nothing amazing.

Songs for the Gentle is on vinyl. And a good thing too, because it's a really wonderful album.

Further recommendations:
Manasyt: Filthdonor
Goliath: Mineral Kingdom
Pole: Steingarten (not the glitch-dub-minimalism of old, more like a technofied version of Jan Jelineks Kosmischer Pitch)

I'm a big fan of Fehlmann, and like this album a lot, but didn't think it fitted too well with what Lichen was asking for. His production is stunning, but he doesn't always hit the mark in the writing department... As an album 'Honigpumpe''s just a bit long and so on. Of his recent-ish records I prefer 'Lowflow'. Not techno tho.

Agreed. I love this.

I also like Chromophobia - though the big pop number 'beautiful life' doesn't do it for me at all

I bought Theo Parrish's Sound Sculptures Vol. 1 and think its fabulous
