not an album, but the new Dinky 'Get Lost 03' mix on Crosstown Rebels is very, very good...probably my favourite minimal mix of the year. it's easy to get jaded about techno mixes as there's so fucking many at the moment, but this one really is a bit special- trippy, knotty, twisting house a la Isolee, with bits of surging, upfront melodic techno.

Heard that Cobblestone Jazz one today... reminded me of Carl Craig at his jazziest.

Also, the Sleeparchive LP is pretty good if you like your minimal highly dubstep-influenced. Can't think of many other artist based LPs at the moment, but there's a good run down of some recent compilations on Tape.

how about the community library stuff like Strategy's Future Rock. He was great supporting The Soft Pink Truth at The Rocket a few weeks ago. You'll like it if you like things lke Pan American

yeah i got mine from phonica. is it leaked then? that would explain all the rumours about it being a bootleg (which it isn't) or in some way not genuine. it is expensive, but it's nice having those tracks on vinyl, and the full versions of the tracks from the fabric mix are great, especially fizpatrick which goes into some lovely warm pads at the end.

the new/previously unreleased tracks are all great too.

i love that ep, apart from the very first track which is just kinda annoying. The new versions of baila sin petit and enucentro are great (i haven't heard the fabric mix yet, for one reason or another.) It's good finally identifying some tracks that are on there that i've heard on luciano and ricardo mixes and not known what they were.

New Murmur album has just landed and it's excellent. I don't know much about him/her/them but it sounds great. It's along similar lines to Deepchord/Echospace, but more focussed, and there's a couple of great downtempo tracks on it as well.

Plus, soon come new album from The Knife. It's all over the torrent sites, which is highly annoying as I have given up illegal music acquisition for the time being. :slanted:

having finally got the thomas melchior album i can confirm that it's a real winner - every track (except perhaps the slightly naff choral-tastic 'watersoul') is in the good-great category. particular faves so far: the uneasy euphoria of 'coming up' (made uneasy in part by the slightly late-sounding snare), and complete with brilliantly re-contextualised pink vocal sample, 'prepare for love' with it's glorious drones and the sherburne-approved 'out there' - tough yet fluid.

there's a sample of PINK in there? which one? (or do you just mean that it sounds kind of pink? i can detect a rosy glow in a lot of melchior's stuff. lots of yellow, too.)
